Re: triumph speed triple / aprilia tuono v4r - nickodemon - 30-04-12 Went out on a test ride of the new tuono v4r. I loved it, but the missus absolutely hated it. She couldn't stay on the seat! Sliding back and forward and generally feeling unsafe. I dropped her off at the side of the road, so i could give it a good roasting :lol It handles and brakes brilliantly and looks awesome, but if the missus can't hang on then its a no goer :\ Might take the speed triple out for a test drive next weekend and see if she prefers it. ![]() Re: triumph speed triple / aprilia tuono v4r - pitternator - 01-05-12 nicko well done for getting the test ride, but IMO super nakeds aint ever gonna be any sort of compromise for pillion taking ! My S3 has atiny excuse for a pillion seat ...and nothing behind it ...aint ever taken a pillion either...would not be able to keep the front wheel on the ground I reckon! Do test the new S3 , cos ( absolute power apart) I would be interested to hear if you think its handling and steering are much different to the tuono. ![]() Re: triumph speed triple / aprilia tuono v4r - nickodemon - 16-06-12 Bought a 12 plate tuono v4r aprc. I was selling my gsxr1000 k6 and a guy contacted me about it. He asked why i was selling it and i told him i wanted a tuono v4r. Unbelievably he said he had bought one brand new 4 weeks ago and wanted to sell it cause he didn't like the wind blast due to the fact it has a tiny cockpit fairing. We reached an agreement, so i phoned my bank manager to ask if i could pick up a sizeable chunk of cash the next day, he said that wouldn't be a problem. We got chatting and i said i had a fazer for sale (standard one i used for work) He was interested so sent pics and he bought it! ![]() Re: triumph speed triple / aprilia tuono v4r - Silverdream - 16-06-12 oooohhh... i think i need to change my pants.... pure motorcycle porn.. :b Nice bike mate... enjoy.. (and dont lose the missus off the back...lol) .. Re: triumph speed triple / aprilia tuono v4r - AyJay - 17-06-12 Oo. My trousers just went all funny. How do you think it compares to the ol' Fazer then, Nickodemon? Re: triumph speed triple / aprilia tuono v4r - bigralphie - 17-06-12 They are stunning bikes ,just too tiny for me thats why I have the V2 Factory instead Re: triumph speed triple / aprilia tuono v4r - Falcon 269 - 17-06-12 Too tiny for you means just right for me, mate. ![]() The Tuono V4 is one of the few new bikes that appeal to me. I could see flatter, narrower bars being required and the taller Aprilia accessories screen being required, though ... ![]() Congratulations, Nick - enjoy! Re: triumph speed triple / aprilia tuono v4r - nickodemon - 17-06-12 Compared to the fazer the fuelling isn't as good, the seat is also a plank, but apart from that it puts serious fun factor into riding. Still trying to work out the settings for traction control/anti wheelie/launch control etc... Think i will need a diploma before i can work it all out :eek I have however managed to change power modes! The tuono v4 is the first bike i have seen since i bought my fazer new in 2005 that appealed the minute i saw it. Typically its been raining since i got it so i haven't had a chance to get out on a good run yet. And so the modding begins ... :lol What's not so good about the fuelling, Nick? Re: triumph speed triple / aprilia tuono v4r - nickodemon - 17-06-12 It's slightly snatchy at low revs and it feels like it is hunting slightly on a steady throttle. I might get the race ecu $400 :eek , which helps the fuelling and improves mpg. The reading on my clocks says i'm averaging 26.2 mpg :'( I've already ordered a roadlok http://www.roadlok.co.uk/ Brilliant disc lock which attaches directly onto bike and you carry the pin in your pocket, as there is no room under the seat for a suitcase padlock never mind anything else! Re: triumph speed triple / aprilia tuono v4r - pitternator - 18-06-12 yes, lets hear what you think.Going from a gixxer thou, that must be a good benchmark comparison.... ![]() |
