Just what I needed. Re: ferkin exup question ....again lol - VNA - 02-03-12 Get a bag of stainless cap screws from screwfix and cut em down to size. Once you've got stainless cap screws in and with a dod of copper ease on em you'll never have a problem getting them back out. And they cost buttons. Re: ferkin exup question ....again lol - VNA - 02-03-12 PlusGas is a top notch release oil. Tri-Flow is good too. Stick it on every day and keep using the bike for a week or so. With a bit of luck they'll come out. There is an element of luck with the OE screws as they do seem to have been manufactured by Cadbury. Re: ferkin exup question ....again lol - martynR - 02-03-12 Mine is half welded now. And has a few screws. If the bike is nearer 10years I would not bet on screws to be undone with penetrating oil. Mine had allen head bolts that rust inside out... Re: ferkin exup question ....again lol - Ghoti - 03-03-12 I really don't want to gloat but feel I must. 70k mile 10 year old bike. Exup not touched for at least 52k miles and 5 years, probably more. 2 days of of plusgas on bolts. Bolts came off no-problems and Exup works just as in the vid and cables within operating levels. Stroke the Fazer. ![]() Re: ferkin exup question ....again lol - solorider - 03-03-12 (02-03-12, 12:54 AM)martynR link Wrote: Mine is half welded now. And has a few screws. Mine had allen head bolts that rust inside out...when i went to remove my exup valve there was no signs of the heads of the bolts, just a small dome of metal left,it only took a couple of minutes with a dremel to get the valve out,and mine was well worn,it was easier and cheaper to buy repacement downpipes,i managed to get the complete exup valve from america for £50 posted and in as new condition,i got the cables for £15 and the downpipes cost me £90 localy,my downpipes not have only the remains of the bolts but the rear bracket has broke off Re: ferkin exup question ....again lol - ghostbiker - 05-03-12 well all this talk of exups :eek is normaly my que for poping out and giving it a service lol. Exup serviced, chain adjusted, rear wheel cleaned and a quick chain clean = 30 mins ![]() On a side note i notice ppl still offten have issues getting the SS bolts for the exup and cover. As i said before i normaly have a few sets knocked up ready for the BMF shows so will pop out today and grab a few sets. my sets come with all 6 bolts (3 one size and 3 the other size) and spring washers (i find it helps as you dont need to do up the bolts very tight that way) all in SS normaly £3 a set but will see if they have changed the price since i last did it. and YES :rolleyes you can get them cheaper your self and NO :rolleyes im not trying to sell them as such here. but if you want a set and cant source them yourself let me know, or just catch me at the BMF show's on the club stand Re: ferkin exup question ....again lol - ghostbiker - 05-03-12 just spoted this if someone was still affter cables. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/EXHAUST-SERVO-CABLES-FZ1-FAZER-FZ1000-YAMAHA-01-05-J-/200722861027?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item2ebc03cbe3 Re: ferkin exup question ....again lol - solorider - 18-03-12 how worn does the exup valve get? well have a look at this photo i took of my old one,i shone a light behind but you can tell how worn it is,the bike has done 70k miles ![]() Re: ferkin exup question ....again lol - _PCooper - 20-03-12 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/EXHAUST-SERVO-CABLES-FZ1-FAZER-FZ1000-YAMAHA-01-05-J-/200722861027?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item2ebc03cbe3 The photos of the cables and servo in this link posted by Ghostbiker certainly aren't for a gen 1 fazer. Re: ferkin exup question ....again lol - ghostbiker - 20-03-12 oppsy, i didnt bother even looking at the item itself just poped up on my normal fazer search so linked it across. |
