"Cat & Fiddle, the Snake Pass, Trough of Bowland to Devils Bridge at Kirkby Lonsdale, Hartside Pass (now ain't that something!) or the A483 South from Newtown"

Done all them... and more... And the Dragon.

What we need is a tread of favorite roads. Until then there's no point with me adding any more to this tread. It's going knowhere  Wink

And Yeah, sorry Motorbreath, getting back to the original post about Goldwing riders.
I am a Goldwing Rider, not as good as the  yellow fellow in the initial video here, but sufficiently sorted and rapid enough to be able to enjoy the above mentioned roads fully laden and two up in ALL weathers.  That barndoor fairing, heated grips and heated seat makes all the difference in the Highlands.  Sports bike riders quiver up there in comparison and the big 'Wing can lead them all the way and back in comfort at rapid pace. Don't knock a Goldwing 'till you've tried one, they ain't slow and can be made to hustle with fun. I love the Fazer, but love the 'Wing equally.  Too expensive by far new nowadays, got mine in '06 at bargain price.  Keeper like the Gen.1  Feckin' dog!                                                                                  [Image: SCOTLANDMAY2009032a.jpg]

So why have a go at the use of awesome, it's a perfectly respectable english word. Unlike luvvly jubbly, which is only used by Del Boy, AFAIK.  :rolleyes

I might have known, a Daily Mail reader :lol :lol

Doesn't stop awesome being a perfectly good english word, anyways...
If we're quoting other sites, try this one http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/awesome#Etymology

I would contend that we are using it, in disussing these roads, in its original meaning, not the cheap colloquial meaning the yanks have stolen it for.

Oh I see......  Smile
"Usage notes
The oldest meaning of "awesome" is "something which inspires awe", but the word is also a common slang expression in English, originally from America."

Re: Amazing Goldwing riders! - devilsyam - 29-01-12

Awesome.......  Big Grin  and then some, of course I'd love to have a go!  Dream on!  :\
Them double yellow lines are effective too, not a single car parked in the middle of the road anywhere.  :rollin
