Foc me, a Mongolian rock band.(Had to look them up). Proper off the wall stuff that is. First time I'd heard of Ulaanbaatar, where they're from, was when Charlie and Ewan passed through on their beemers.

Was a good night out - seen them twice over the last year or so. Shame that the current tour has been postponed due to Covid.

I had "Meaty,Beaty,Big and Bouncy" on vinyl and 8 track years ago,still brings memories flooding back whenever I hear a track off it,the other day I heard "the kids are alright" and actually felt emotional ! :rolleyes

I always found it odd, that whilst The Who were featured heavily in Quadrophenia (did they have something to do with the script writing?) and on the back of Mods parka's, that they were a chuffin great rock group.

Pete Townshend was one of the four screenplay writers. I've often wondered if they financed the film as the production company was The Who Films Ltd. Despite the many glaring errors in the film, I've always found it a good watch as it successfully captured the mood of the time.

Funny isn't it, I started riding in '83 and even then the 'mods and rockers' thing was still going on and no motorcyclist I knew would ever admit to liking The Who cos they were a mod band.

If someone genuinely likes music, they'll like what they hear irrespective of what group of people identify with that music. Born in 1946, rock'n'roll was my natural music genre, until via older kids I discovered Radio Luxembourg, which opened up a whole new music experience, made greater by the advent of pirate radio a few years later. Can't stand jazz or reggae though :lol

I started riding a little before you, I've never like heavy rock, my mates pretty much all didn't either, we were big 'Who, Madness most scar actually, even sole and chart stuff. So you're not alone

I remember me and my brother and sister sharing a big old double bed listening to "the Tony Prince show" on luxembourg and our mom threat'ning to larrup all of us if we didn't turn it off and get to sleep. :lol our old man pissed off when we was very young and I swear we never missed one second of him 'orrible fucker,I was glad when he died.

Radio Luxembourg always seemed to be clear as a bell during the adverts, but always seemed to fade out when one of your favourites was being played. "Horace Batchelor,Keynsham,Bristol" was always loud and clear :lol :lol
