Re: what did you do with your fazer today ? - unfazed - 21-04-14 Removed the Goodridge black covered braided brake lines from the 600 and put back the genuine Yamaha ones. :eek Never liked the wooden feel of the braided ones on the fazer. :eek Yet I have ridden many bikes Gixxers, Fireblade an S1000rr and GS1200s with the same type of lines and they felt fine, but on the fazer they gave no feedback just felt wooden. Just back now after a run with the Yamaha lines back in and the feel is back as it was originally ![]() Any one want a set of Goodridge brake lines black covered 3 line type with stainless fitting for the FZS600, £60 incl. postage and they are yours. Re: what did you do with your fazer today ? - mickvp - 21-04-14 I rode mine then didnt wash it.... its bugging me now though knowing it needs done :o Re: what did you do with your fazer today ? - Millietant - 21-04-14 Went on a ride East, first towards Lutterworth, then on through Market Harborough and Corby on the way to Lyveden Manor (English Heritage/National Trust site). Although I went on my RSV, my wife Liz and son Ryan were on their Fazer's (1000 & 600 respectively). Took a more scenic route back from Market Harborough, mostly on the back country lanes, taking in Welton, Stanford and Clay Coton. Here's the pair of them, with the bikes, in the car park at Lyveden (son is on the left - don't get confused by the long hair!). ![]() Re: what did you do with your fazer today ? - Millietant - 21-04-14 (21-04-14, 09:05 PM)unfazed link Wrote:Removed the Goodridge black covered braided brake lines from the 600 and put back the genuine Yamaha ones. :eek I've been planning on getting some, but £50 for something you feel makes the braking worse is logic that's perverse even for me - definitely will need to think about this again Re: what did you do with your fazer today ? - unfazed - 21-04-14 (21-04-14, 10:35 PM)Millietant link Wrote:
I've been planning on getting some, but £50 for something you feel makes the braking worse is logic that's perverse even for me - definitely will need to think about this again
They did not make the braking worse I just did not like the wooden feel they gave, I just prefer the extra little bit of give of the rubber lines, but some people love them. Every one to their own. I would suggest that you ride a one with braided lines first and then decide. You might like them, it is just that I didn't. Re: what did you do with your fazer today ? - Millietant - 22-04-14 Funnily enough, I love the braided lines on my FJ 1200 and also the feel through my RSV brakes is fantastic - but you're not the first person I heard say they can make brakes feel wooden - that's exactly what friends have said when fitting them to a couple of Kawasaki's, a VFR 400 and a couple of GSXR's. Time will tell !!! Re: what did you do with your fazer today ? - noggythenog - 22-04-14 Noggyfighter passed its MOT with flying colours. The tester said that despite being crashed it was a clean bike. 8) Looking around at some much newer bikes in the shop confirmed this. So i now have a summer biking pass ![]() Get some practice in before being a thou rider next year.......akin to being a wring raith! :b Re: what did you do with your fazer today ? - unfazed - 22-04-14 (22-04-14, 09:48 AM)Millietant link Wrote: Funnily enough, I love the braided lines on my FJ 1200 and also the feel through my RSV brakes is fantastic - but you're not the first person I heard say they can make brakes feel wooden - that's exactly what friends have said when fitting them to a couple of Kawasaki's, a VFR 400 and a couple of GSXR's. Time will tell !!!Yes it was just the feel I did not like, strangely I never had a problem on many of the bikes I have ridden fitted with braided lines and when I collected a friends RSV (2005 model) last September and rode it 150 miles back to his house the front brakes with the braided lines felt great with good feedback. ![]() I do know of a few riders who have reverted to the standard lines for the same reason. Re: what did you do with your fazer today ? - noggythenog - 22-04-14 Hey unfazed Just so happens i remember millitant i believe talking about Aprillias or maybe i seen it online but apparently back brakes are a known foible with Aprillias and they are next to useless and require very regular bleeding. Re: what did you do with your fazer today ? - thunderpantz - 22-04-14 Thought about the fact I need to put the head back together tomorrow. Lè sigh Re: what did you do with your fazer today ? - unfazed - 22-04-14 (22-04-14, 01:14 PM)noggythenog link Wrote: Hey unfazed Noggy, Yes, we were aware of it before my friend bought it, which is why I bled it before riding it. That particular model has a problem apparently with the location of the master cylinder. Great to ride but I prefer the Fazers for pure all roundedness . I will be passing your way in a few weeks time, but by car unfortunately. Well i appreciate you'll be busy driving around but any foccer is always welcome for a cup o tea if im off. P.s theres a new stretch of carriageway if you go Pembroke dock to st clears way to go east...not sure exactly what bit but word on the street is the police are hot with cameras on it at the mo. ![]() Re: what did you do with your fazer today ? - savvy - 22-04-14 Looks like I'm going to have to fettle and ride the bike for another year then :eek passed it's MOT today with no problems even with the 400 headlights. Then put it in the garage, bloody weight bench stand fell over on the tank.Scratched and dented !!!!! :'( More damn work ![]() Re: what did you do with your fazer today ? - thunderpantz - 22-04-14 Last time I saw my head.... ![]() Re: what did you do with your fazer today ? - unfazed - 22-04-14 (22-04-14, 05:06 PM)noggythenog link Wrote:
On ye olde Isle Of Inishmore then?.......or the fishguard ferry? Took a bit of Del Boy bodgery and some tact but finally the foccer is on and sounds great and I can finally ride the thing once it has its MOT ![]() Re: what did you do with your fazer today ? - Grahamm - 22-04-14 Not today, but yesterday (was too knackered when I got home!) Rode up to London to a friend's place, but went the interesting route and also stopped off at three pubs (no, not for a drink, but for a Scatter Rally the Solent Advanced Motorcyclists are doing!) On the way I happened to go past Blackbushe Airport and there was a guy with a camera who took my photo as I was riding past (at a legal speed, I would point out) so I gave him the Salute ![]() Re: what did you do with your fazer today ? - Fazerider - 23-04-14 Also not today, but yesterday at 1am... on Minley Road (near Blackbushe), very nearly lost it hitting a puddle that wanted to qualify as a lake. The force of the spray off the front wheel was enough to knock my feet off the pegs. :eek Re: what did you do with your fazer today ? - red98 - 23-04-14 (22-04-14, 10:31 AM)noggythenog link Wrote: Noggyfighter passed its MOT with flying colours. too good to break, too good to break, too good to break......... :rolleyes :rolleyes :rolleyes Re: what did you do with your fazer today ? - red98 - 23-04-14 Got wet coming home :\ |
