Re: what did you do with your fazer today ? - esetest - 17-03-14 Took my front off for the first time last week , lift the front end ( I used paving slabs under the exhaust ) , remove the hose holder bolts , remove the caliper bolts ,swing the calipers out the way ( goes without saying don't squeeze the brake lever ), remove the pinch bolt , undo the axle( had to use my long wrench for this ) remove axle , remove wheel , remove collars from wheel( didn't want them falling out whilst transporting wheel ) and put on axle then refit axle (17-03-14, 08:27 PM)noggythenog link Wrote: Went to the garage to see about investigating a scraping or knocking noise from the front wheel, there is a little play in the wheel so bearing looks like could need done but also the noise is coming from where the famous speedo dog is located so maybe that is it.only happens when ignition is on as i am moving off i hear 1 to 3 like scrapes, like something under my mudguard. Re: what did you do with your fazer today ? - esetest - 17-03-14 I will try to go as long as I don't have to work . [/quote] Re: what did you do with your fazer today ? - noggythenog - 17-03-14 Cheers esetest Good instructions mate. :thumbup There's always a first time for everything & ive got a haynes just to double check stuff. Re: what did you do with your fazer today ? - MarkWales - 18-03-14 So I have had a bit of a miss fire on the bike and when I drained the carburetor bowls found I had a large amount of water and rust bubbles. When I checked the clear fuel filter I have installed I could see the orange going through the filter (not good)decided to book the bike in to have the carburetors cleaned and balanced - beyond my current ability. In preparation for this I today drained and removed the tank then flushed the tank with detergent and plenty of water once fully dried out replaced the fuel. There was about a litre of really contaminated crap I removed from the tank :eek When flushing out the tank I saw what looked to be more like flakes of fish food than rust. Fuel going through the filter now flows clear as hoped. need to use the thing more to prevent this happening again! Re: what did you do with your fazer today ? - kitcrazy - 18-03-14 got 100 quid fine and 3 points coming home from work :\ Re: what did you do with your fazer today ? - ChristoT - 18-03-14 (18-03-14, 11:24 PM)kitcrazy link Wrote: got 100 quid fine and 3 points coming home from work :\ Ouch. ![]() Speeding? Re: what did you do with your fazer today ? - kitcrazy - 19-03-14 yer was abit luck there.not proud off it ridding like a dick lesson learnt :o Re: what did you do with your fazer today ? - nick crisp - 19-03-14 Did a short run up to Kenilworth castle today, and had a nice stroll around in the sunshine. Lots of snaps taken, here's one of castle and bike: ![]() And then rode to Warwick to try to get pics of that castle, but only one view available without paying £6 for the castle car park :eek ![]() Had to stop briefly on a bridge on double yellow lines to get this shot. I have visited the castle before, and it is worth paying for a proper day out, and I will again sometime as I didn't have a camera with me last time. Another interesting building in Warwick - the Lord Leycester Hospital: ![]() ![]() Re: what did you do with your fazer today ? - mr self destruct - 19-03-14 You didn't visit Brinklow castle while you were up here? :lol Today I found out why my immobiliser wasn't working, I emailed bikealarmman.com and was told that sometimes the backup fuse blows if it's not upgraded. So folks with Metasystem alarms, make sure you have a 15A backup fuse, not the standard 10A! ![]() Re: what did you do with your fazer today ? - Skippernick - 19-03-14 (19-03-14, 08:54 AM)kitcrazy link Wrote: yer was abit luck there.not proud off it ridding like a dick lesson learnt :o As long as you learn from it. With 2 little girls I know just get so scared of speeding vehicles in 30 zones for them or any other children. Re: what did you do with your fazer today ? - esetest - 20-03-14 Used it to do a small job over the other side of Bristol , first time on motorway since having the front wheel off . Re: what did you do with your fazer today ? - NorthWestern - 20-03-14 Got the pegs down! Well the right hand one. Damp roundabout! roll on the summer. brrrrr Re: what did you do with your fazer today ? - noggythenog - 20-03-14 (20-03-14, 12:21 AM)esetest link Wrote: Used it to do a small job over the other side of Bristol , first time on motorway since having the front wheel off . Your wheel didnt fall off then....that's good coz i followed your instructions :lol Re: what did you do with your fazer today ? - esetest - 20-03-14 Lol , though it was on my mind , whenever I do any jobs on the bike be it changing oil , coolant , taking things off , I do check for leaks and nothings loose for a few weeks after . Going to the Ace on Sunday so that will highlight any issues . I think it should be ok though, maybe won't last quite so long. Unbelievable state the old chain was in, after riding through flooded roads and not getting to clean it immediately afterwards. Still, those were, I think, the original chain and sprockets, 27.000 miles-ish, so not bad for a bike with no auto-oiler. And now washed and shiny again.
