Re: Nightshift - Chris - 26-01-14 Woop, almost finished the last night of this week then a couple of days off!! Wonder how the manager would feel about me bringing in my calipers to overhaul when it's quiet... haha Chris Re: Nightshift - midden - 26-01-14 I'm on week off after day shifts and from day1 went in to night mode ![]() Re: Nightshift - bri h - 26-01-14 Im working mon tues wed this week the i have two weeks off. hoping my body clock can change before the 9th. Re: Nightshift - Chris - 27-01-14 I'm on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday this week too. Yeah, got to try not sleep too long after the last one so that you can kick your body clock back around to normal mode. Chris Re: Nightshift - noggythenog - 27-01-14 Apparently scientists are not too far away from developing a pill that can quickly reset the body clock thus relieving symptoms of shifts and jet lag. & we could prob get away with having our work pay for them. Re: Nightshift - Chris - 27-01-14 Think I'll stick to the old fashioned way ![]() Chris Re: Nightshift - fireblake - 27-01-14 I'm on nights tonight. I will only do 2 nights and then have 4 days off. The pill will be the same as 6 cans of Red Bull. I don't think i would take anything, although only working 2 nights i hardly have the time to get all mixed up. Because of all the flooding i've been working extra days. so 5 days 2 nights and back onto 5 days again. That has been hard. I have a lot less sleep on days as i have to be up by half 4 but sometimes struggle to get to bed by say half 10. Put the dog out and lock the doors and just check those bloody emails and have a quick look on FaceBook and before you know it it's half 11 and you know its gonna be a crap day at work tomorrow. Mickey Re: Nightshift - Chris - 29-01-14 1st of 3 nights tonight... Any good games/books/websites anyone can recommend to pass the time? Try this one: www.freerice.com Chris Re: Nightshift - bri h - 29-01-14 My problem is i work three nights then have two nights off. That means i finish work at six in the mornig and go back at six the next nigt. No time to adjust.still it pays the bills. During the winter you must struggle to see some daylight? Mickey Re: Nightshift - Chris - 29-01-14 Yeah, over winter can be a killer. Quite often go 3 or 4 days without seeing daylight... need to get myself one of those SAD lights. Chris Re: Nightshift - bri h - 29-01-14 Ive got two weeks off after tonight and the wifes hinted about clearing up the garden. I could be in the poop as i havent seen it in daylight for ages now. Think ill have to find something to do in the garage. My bike is booked in for a service and valve clearance check on friday so i should be able to hide behind that for a while haha. Re: Nightshift - Chris - 30-01-14 Haha! Good luck with that! This is my first summer with a garden to look after... New house has quite a large grass area, going to have to buy a lawnmower.. Chris Re: Nightshift - midden - 30-01-14 u could always turn it into a veg patch ![]() Re: Nightshift - Chris - 30-01-14 (30-01-14, 02:51 AM)midden link Wrote: u could always turn it into a veg patch Too many bloody rabbits about. I'd rather tarmac it and put a massive shed on it. haha! Chris Re: Nightshift - bri h - 01-02-14 Im with you chris, id tarmac the window box if i could get away with it. I sleep around my mums when on nights as its quieter and i get a cooked breakfast when i get in. Anyway, my biggest gripe is that i have to go home first to sort out my lunch, say hello and walk the dog and just generally get my sh!t together. It's absolutely peeing down. I have to put my bike gear on, to ride the mile home. My gear will get soaked(on the outside) I have to take it off for about an hour but then put it on again wet and go to work. I'm typing this looking out the window and not liking what i see. Mickey Re: Nightshift - ChristoT - 09-10-14 Bump. Writing a report for my IET EngTech accreditation. Then might reasearch Final Year Project and group design. First all-nighter of the academic year! :rolleyes Re: Nightshift - mickvp - 10-10-14 What's the report on Christo? I'm doing a report for my BEng on risk assessment. Now that's what you call a long shift :lol |
