reason for all the dog bones is originaly lowered it using hyperpro dog bones new r6 shock came with shiny ones
was bit tall for me on tip toes,so i used standard bones cleaned and painted black now has same height as it was using hyperpro, well happy with it

so i now have a hyperpro set o bones i paid good money for from yamaha and shiny ones should i keep them or sell?

Re: R6 shock Mod - yoshiwolves - 23-07-12

fitted my recently bought shock conversion from luke over the weekend, bike now handles a lot better and feels more composed, all in all a very worthwhile mod for the price of a decent set of tyres,  Smile

Re: R6 shock Mod - manuel32 - 23-07-12

Nice load of posts, seems brilliant work ,

My 2007-8 fz1 seems hard on the rear, at speed on the A roads bucks me off the seat ALOT  :eek

Maybe i should start by adjusting the spring tension,,perhaps the last owner was a fat bas**rd  :lol

Anyhow, will these sorted shocks fit my model?

Re: R6 shock Mod - rjd1 - 23-07-12

now need a sticker to replace the hyperpro one

any devilsyam ones yet????????

Re: R6 shock Mod - devilsyam - 23-07-12

manuel32 sorry bud but the gen2 2 is a lost cause lol this mod is for the faster gen 1 lol

Re: R6 shock Mod - manuel32 - 23-07-12

Ok , thanks for that :b

I will start by backing off the rear spring,,do you know if there is any damping, rebound adjustment on them?

Re: R6 shock Mod - pitternator - 25-07-12

I would read up a bit about suspension before you do anything ...sounds like you dont have much idea !...

it dont matter how much anyone weighs if the spring is too hard for their weight....

Re: R6 shock Mod - manuel32 - 25-07-12

Correct !!

I will do a trial and error ride with the shock,,is there off the shelf springs for the standard shock or does one have to source one suitable for a lighter bloke?

I will also check to see what the compression and rebound are set at and see where they can be bettered.

Cheers
