Sorry for your loss mate. I know what you mean with slipknot, maybe try a band called spineshank, their guitar riffs are golden. Or even a bit of rammstein? Re: So What're You Listening To Today? - Kenbob - 13-03-17 Thank you for the heads up on those bands, will give them a listen. [/quote] To echo Dudeofrude's sentiments I'm sorry to hear about your mum, and the odd bit of raw guitar power does wonders to clear the mind. Great video from Spineshank here. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0NbkxcNjH9w And I can recommend this headbanger too. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FdkfWjrmp98 Re: So What're You Listening To Today? - celticdog - 14-03-17 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0tLsFsGxLmE Re: So What're You Listening To Today? - nick crisp - 14-03-17 ^^ 8) I like Robin Trower, although Stevie Ray Vaughan once said he was fixated on the darker side of Hendrix. I can see where he was coming from, but I think Trower made it work for himself. Got the album of him with Jack Bruce recently - not their best work ever, but has some good points. Me, I'm mostly listening to anything and everything by Rory Gallagher at the moment. Got myself "The Best of Taste"; the first two albums under his own name, which amazingly I hadn't heard; "Notes From San Franciso"; and "The Beat Club Sessions". I'm trying to learn to play his (electric guitar) style at the moment, including tackling slide guitar in standard tuning - he was definitely a master of this! Got the rhythm parts from about 18 tracks down, and have figured out some of his use of sliding double-stops, pinched harmonics etc. Quite obsessed with it all really. Also picked up on two collaboration albums from Beth Hart and Joe Bonamassa. She's a cracking blues singer, and Bonamassa needs no introductions. The solo in 'A Million Miles Away' just about breaks my heart. Re: So What're You Listening To Today? - Frosties - 15-03-17 Celtic - you got any of this fella I can borrow.
