Got the Fazer back from the workshop today. - Bimbam - 23-03-17 Hi. I had this troipc 3 weeks ago.: http://foc-u.co.uk/index.php/topic,21967.0.html , about lots of gasolin from the carburetors. I got the bike from the workshop today, and they had quite a job with almost all of the carburetor gaskets I got the valves checked, new gaskets, balancing and carburetor adjustment. The adjustment was needed, i have KN filter and an aftermarked can. It runs very nicely now and the price was 533 euro or 459 GBP. Have a nice day Re: Got the Fazer back from the workshop today. - Disorderlypunk - 23-03-17 parts prices seem about the same as in uk the labour cost is what scares me thats why i do it all myself and all that cost for just float bowl gaskets and a carb clean Re: Got the Fazer back from the workshop today. - Bimbam - 23-03-17 I think the price i very fair. No probs from me. Re: Got the Fazer back from the workshop today. - Bretty - 23-03-17 Fair play! Personally I would have bought 4 services kits (4x£14), a Haynes manual (£10), and a set of carb balancing gauges (£50). Do the job, then sell the gauges on a well known auction site. My bike with scorpion exhaust and K&N filter runs great on standard jets and settings. Re: Got the Fazer back from the workshop today. - JoeyMcEssex - 23-03-17 £460 jeez my fazer only cost me £550? Re: Got the Fazer back from the workshop today. - joebloggs - 23-03-17 Yeah I'd be focin mad if I got that bill. Local garage £120 to shim and balance carbs, £60 to strip and rebuild carbs inc setting float heights. Foc me I'd have change for a pair of tyre's Re: Got the Fazer back from the workshop today. - Bimbam - 23-03-17 :b Re: Got the Fazer back from the workshop today. - Bimbam - 23-03-17 a 1998 Fazer i Denmark cost about 3.500 GBP. Re: Got the Fazer back from the workshop today. - Bretty - 23-03-17 My 2000 with 26,000miles on the clock cost me £825. :-) The best £825 I ever spent! :-) Re: Got the Fazer back from the workshop today. - JoeyMcEssex - 24-03-17 £3500 for an FZS ? looks like a business opportunity for someone!! It's the best thing about riding in Europe. Oncoming bikers wave and if you overtake a bike on his right, he'll wave at you with his foot. In the UK you just get the 'nod'. Although no one bothers in London. Re: Got the Fazer back from the workshop today. - fazersharp - 24-03-17 (24-03-17, 02:54 PM)Bretty link Wrote: I gotta say I like the righthand drive bikes! And for us here its the right foot out rather than take your right hand off the throttle Re: Got the Fazer back from the workshop today. - tommyardin - 24-03-17 (24-03-17, 12:02 PM)Fazer99 link Wrote:
Don't they have to be left hand drive for Denmark :groan
Thats an easy fix, just replace the handlbars one of these :lol :lol :lol
Going to USA end of April where you get them left hooker bars I might buy some. :grumble then I am in trouble as I hadn't realise that the left hooker handlebars cost so much. I only have about 7/21/2d. Let me count up again: Half a Crown, a two Shilling bit, a Shilling bit, two sixpenny bits, two Thrupenny bits, 2 Pennys, a Hapenny, and a couple of Farthings, but my Mrs reckons that Farthings are no longer legal tender. Makes me think now how did that foccing money work. Half a crown was 2/6d, 2 Shilling bit was 2 Bob, 1 Shilling piece was a Bob, Sixpence was a Tanner, 3 Pence piece was a Thrupenny bit, the rest was just shrapnel. 20 Shillings to the pound, 12 Pennys to the Shilling, 240 Pennys to the pound, 2 Hapennys to the Penny and 4 farthings to the Penny. Then just to make it difficult to understand, a 2 Shilling bit was not just known as 2 Bob it was also a Florin, A Half a Crown was not just 2/6d it was also known as Half a Dollar, A Sixpenny bit was not just a Tanner but was also known as a Sprassy, A Three Pence piece was not just a Thrupenny bit but was also known as a Joey. Re: Got the Fazer back from the workshop today. - JoeyMcEssex - 24-03-17 Don't the new pound coin look like a bigger Thrupenny or was that Joey? :b Re: Got the Fazer back from the workshop today. - GH600 - 24-03-17 7s & 3 1/2 penny's it look's like to me ![]() |
