AIS removal kit - robbo - 08-03-16

Bit of a tall order, but would anyone have a record of the dimensions of the ais removal fittings that justy used to make, and what would be the preferred material. Don't fancy going the tapered tap route and was considering getting a machine shop to make me a set.

holeshot sell a kit that just slips on rather than tapping threads into the holes..................

Or you can cut and crimp the existing AIS pipes. Not quite as neat the custom jobbies but they're hardly visible anyway.

Yep the Holeshot kit is what I was hoping to get made here, as the exchange rate/freight/import duty/vat etc makes it quite an expensive option, especially if I got a few sets made. Thanks for your suggestion.

Excellent. I'd like to know the outside and inside diameters, and also the overall outside length. I know Dale uses the most expensive carriers in the world, or so it seems, but could you let me know how much did the kit work out with import etc paid. Please pm if you'd prefer.

Hi robbo, I used these, works out about £20 delivered in a week, but then decided to tap the holes out anyway! Might be worth a look

I don't have the exact fee's with me but the Holeshot kit cost me £48 including postage but I got stung to the sum of £19 in vat and Royal Mail handling fee. I've been told that some people have gotten away without paying the import duties though but I think you have to be lucky Big Grin

The kit is extremely well made and I think it's worth the money.

I purchased the holeshot kit and the postage was about the same as the cost of the kit itself so like Craig said it cost in total just under £50. Fortunately I didn't get stung for the import fees but that's a risk you need to consider. I personally think the holeshot kit is the best looking and easiest to install solution so don't think £50 is too expensive but another £20 on top would smart.

I used the Holeshot kit and thought Id be clever in getting my niece in Boston to order it and posted to her. She in turn brought it over in her hand luggage at Xmas. The robbing bar stewards still billed her $25 postage.....

No way around getting ripped off it would seem....

On the plus side the kits dead easy to fit and is of high quality

Just done mine, I know your not interested in the tapping route but seriously it's no big deal, just go steady and jobs a goodun, and it looks nice and clean with the cap bolts........ if you want you can have my old tap set, blanking plugs were a few quid off ebay. :lol

Agreed cost me about a fiver, it was far easier than I thought it would be
