International Spacestation flyover - Buzz - 14-04-14

Tonight at 8:15pm there should be a great clear skies for the ISS flyover.  I saw it go over on Saturday and it was massive (for something 200 miles away anyway), well worth 5 minutes of your time.

Exupnut - I think that site is using a different Timezone, previously posted times should be correct as they are BST

Re: International Spacestation flyover - Fazerider - 14-04-14

And I've just noticed there's an Iridium flare during the ISS pass where I am this evening (anyone within a dozen miles of the line from Northampton to Chichester should be able to see that too).

Re: International Spacestation flyover - taylor - 14-04-14

Re: International Spacestation flyover - HarryHornby - 14-04-14

OH WOW, that was amazing!  it was like a really bright star shooting over head, it looked like it flew right over us.  I even woke up my 7 year old daughter to see it.  Thanks for the heads up on this.  Amazing to think people are up there!  Smile

Re: International Spacestation flyover - Buzz - 14-04-14

Yep, brightest thing in the sky.  Not as bright as on Saturday though - will be back at 9:50pm.

Re: International Spacestation flyover - red98 - 14-04-14

Missed it last time  :o......try again at 9.50  Smile

Re: International Spacestation flyover - HarryHornby - 14-04-14

Jupiter and Mars are really bright at the mo too.  Really should get the telescope out.  We moved house last year and it's stayed up in the loft, time to get it down me thinks.

Re: International Spacestation flyover - ChristoT - 14-04-14

Missed it completely. Although summat in the South south west was bloody bright (and bloody static  :rolleyes )

Re: International Spacestation flyover - darrsi - 14-04-14

Was standing outside my local with a mate, the pair of us looking up into an empty sky like a pair of planespotters!
Didn't see it, plus people started staring at us.  :lol

Re: International Spacestation flyover - darrsi - 14-04-14

Found the full moon though........that was easy.  Smile

Re: International Spacestation flyover - taylor - 14-04-14

it could have been worse, a bus could have stopped for you . :lol

Re: International Spacestation flyover - fazersharp - 14-04-14

Been watching the flyovers for years and have seen them with the space shuttle right behind "chasing" it to doc.
Iridium flares are even more spectacular, the lower the number the brighter the object the station at the mo is -3.5 or somthing but a good flare will be -8

Re: International Spacestation flyover - slimwilly - 14-04-14

I just saw it

Re: International Spacestation flyover - darrsi - 14-04-14

Got it this time  Smile
