FOR SALE FZS600 OE Yamaha Engine Bars (GONE)
Posted by: apage16 - 10-03-14, 01:22 PM - Forum: For Sale & Wanted - Replies (9)

Hi all!

As I have now put Renntec crash bars onto Polly the Boxeye, I've decided to pass on my Yamaha Crash Bars.

They are The small hoop, Official Yamaha bars. Very subtle looks.

My bike has fallen onto them. They did a very good job of keeping everything damage free.

As a result of the drop, I've given them a Hammerite Rattle can paint job. It's not Professional Powdercoat Perfect, but as you can see, they look pretty good. I'd say it's a 'B-grade' Paint job!

There is a run on the underside of one bar (as I said, I'm no pro, I just wanted them to be all black again!)

And here they are on the bike:

They cost me £70.

For £45 they're yours.

Ta.

  The noggyfighter is alive.

Just a little gloat about how the noggyfighter is back up & running after hibernating in its little wooden noggy nest. 8)

I go with dont touch it, start it until your ready to use it ethos, i take the battery out, clean & oil the bike & i maybe bring it out the shed now & again to do some fettling but i never start it up & this worked a treat last year.

So again i did an oil change first, then the coolant (only coz i was a numpty & a pipe came off :rolleyes )

Started her up last night but i had a massive stutter & she just wasnt running or even blippable on the throttle.

Came back to it today, lifted the tank, checked fuel pipe, got some more air outta the coolant system & topped up.....then took each plugs off & squirted with WD40.

Worked a treat :woot

Had her bouncing off the limiter & got rid of the cobwebs.

So after reading on here on various rough running issues it goes to show that starting with the basics can pay off & yes WD40 & black tape can & will fix everything. :b

Heres a pic of the noggyfighter at noggy towers 8)

Time to ride the thing. Confusedun Confusedun Confusedun

  West London Yamaha

Is West London Yamaha any good?

As mentioned in an earlier post, my FZ1 has died with the engine trouble light coming on? I'm desperately trying to find a Yamaha dealer as the problem requires diagnostic software which only Yamaha dealers have (or so it seems). I'm in Staines at the moment.

  Exup valve needs adjusting?
Posted by: slappy - 10-03-14, 12:01 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (14)

If I accelerate hard once I hit about 9000 revs the engine misfires really badly and I have to back off, its ls very pronounced misfire.
I have changed the fuel filter but it made no difference. If I accelerate normally there is no misfire.
Am I right in thinking that my exup valve needs adjusting?

  Hi from new member

Hi, just had a great ride out with some of you guys after my bro in law ( kitcrazy ) encouraged me to come along.
Was made to feel welcome, even though my steed is a BMW K1300R( thanks to everyone, who's names I will never remember but will be known as "mate" ) and to the lead riders who took us to god knows where, through god knows where, via McDonalds  :eek
Had a fantastic day and did over 250 miles and I enjoyed everyone of them.
Great Crowd, Great Route, Great day - hope to meet up again soon
Cheers !

Bike died just as I arrived at work (engine trouble warning light)
Posted by: peterjca - 10-03-14, 11:36 AM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (4)

My 2008 FZ1 Fazer died just as I arrived at work. I noticed the orange light came on (looked that up, "engine trouble warning light" - erk!!!) and then 15 or seconds later, the console went blank and the engine died some seconds later.

The orange engine trouble light comes on when you switch the bike on (with all the other lights) but then remains on.

Doesn't sound like good news. Off to find a PDF owner's manual...

  Difficulty changing up gear
Posted by: pointer2null - 10-03-14, 11:21 AM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (11)

This has been getting worse for some time and it's now getting to the point of making riding tricky...

Any common fazer issue cause this? I'm guessing worn selector forks.

Also - any recommendation on where to buy replacements (excluding ebay).

  Wire wheels conversion
Posted by: hightower - 10-03-14, 10:03 AM - Forum: General - Replies (1)

I'm interested in a bike on eBay as part of a project (not a Fazer), and for it to look the business it will need old wire spoked wheels. My question, it has cast alloy wheels - how easy is it to replace these with wire spoked wheels? It has disc brake front, rear brake is drum, chain driven.

I'm guessing it's not just a case of getting the right size for tyres, but also so it fits at the axle, discs, sprockets etc...
