Can anyone recommend a good quality outdoor waterproof motorcycle cover and what size would I need for a Fazer 1000?

Hi,
Not entirely sure if this is suitable to post here. Engine went today, left bike at side of motorway. If anyone has the facilities to pick the bike up, it's theirs (Scotland)
Location: M90, south of Bridge of Earl heading Northbound: http://goo.gl/maps/XwblM
Edit: Gumtree being awkward, will re-edit with link to gumtree ad soon.

Electric Power problem - no power at all?

Hi folks. I have Fazer 600 from 2002. Everthyng was Ok, but suddently I was turn off the bike, and when trying to turn on, I switch the key but no power to the dashboard at all! No lamps, no odometer, no lights, no contact, nothing. Like there is no battery on bike! I measured battery and it is Ok. I switch new battery but still no power. I was checking every fuse and everyone is Ok.
hm...I left bike for one week in garage, tryed to switch jey again but nothing. Tryed to check the cables under the key switch and still no power. I left key to ON position for almost one hours and I get power to my dashboard back. I turn on the engine and after one minut, suddenly it lost electric power again and again nothing. No lamps, odometer, nothing.
Again the day after I manage to turn it on by lefting key to ON position, I get electric power, turn on and here is what I notice:
- when I turn key to ON, normaly, all lamps go ON and off. It is a lamp check. Then everything goes to normal. Green neutral lights, odometer is visible etc. When I turn possition light on, still everything is ok, but when I turn low light, my odometer goes invisible and all lights turn of and on again and odometer is again visible. Like some kind of reset happens. Like I am turning the key OFF and ON. Also, that happens when I turn on High beam/high light or press passing light. But everything is normal when I turn position light! That all happens when my engine is OFF and my key is at ON position.
When the engine is ON, that also happens but only for first time when I turn of the light. All dashboard goes like on reset. Off and ON,. but when I turn of light an back turn On, everything is normal. So only first time, when the engine is ON, when I turn On lights, reset happens. When the engine is OFF, on every turning ON low or high lights, my dashboard reset.
Today, i was driving a bike, pull over, turn it of, went for a coffee, turn on key and NOTHING. Dead. I had to put the bike in a mini van to get it back home!
Any familiar experience, any advice...thanx in advance..Arvin

How to plan touring abroad

Well I've got the touring bug again and this time am planning a shorter break abroad, probably to France.
It's the first time travelling abroad on a bike. So the usual, what's what, road recommendations? Good b&b's? We'll be getting the euro tunnel over as it's only £50/bike return journey (and the mrs doesn't get on with ferries).
We'll only be going for 4-5 days total, so I'm planning roughly 1 day each side for travel (as travelling down from yorkshire) and so 2-3 days actually in France. Ideal mileage as worked out on the end to end last year was approx. 200-250/day. Anymore and it's tiring and painful!

Well ive looked at the long range weather forecast and it looks like the 31st of march till 3rd of april (monday to thursday) look dry and not too cold so im heading to landovrey on the monday and will stay probably two nights. Ive got a couple of routes in mind mostly nick crisps but i might find a decent way down to the gower peninsular and new quay is a must cos its great to watch the dolphins in the evening.I done snowdonia last year so will probably stay more mid/ south wales this time. The area around Ryadar has some great roads. I know mid week is awkward for people with proper jobs but i hope to meet some welsh foccers.Trouble is i want to go now haha.

Sticky rear brake.

So after my bike lying for 3-4 weeks, it appears it has not done the rear caliper any favours. The function has been greatly reduced, and the brake is sticking. I assume (?) That this means the caliper will need stripped and cleaned and rebuilt, which is fine, can anyone tell me how many seals I need to do this? I see wemoto selling them as singles, and they don't do a kit for the rear calipers.
I'm not interested in changing for a thou caliper, as I really want to keep it OEM (I plan on selling soon, so don't want the hassle of explaining that the rear caliper is different to someone who may not be a member from here).
Aside from giving the piston a good clean and changing the seals, is there anything else I should be looking at that may be affecting the performance? The fluid is only 4 month old, so I'm confident that's ok, although it may need bled again too?
