Yesterday - perfect weather, roads, company. Nice day in the country with some cycling gang. On the way back... should have been more rested and had NONE beers. Mate started braking on a slow conrer exit, when he was already past the apex. I came in too close to fast. Was supposed to just gas it, but he was getting closer and closer. Put the bike straight, started braking, then slid into the ditch past the road. Better than hitting him. All my fault - should have kept more distance.
Not a scratch on me, but fazer is crashed. Will see the damage today. Towed it home. Idiot. :rolleyes

Just in the middle of converting my standard front end to the r1 (early type) and have noticed a 10 thou run out on the fazer steering stem. Any opinions on whether is an acceptable tolerance will be greatly welcomed. Thanks in advance.

Hi Guys, 6 year owner first time poster,
Wondered if you can help me out.
I'll start out by saying a few years back my bike decided it wanted to go into a coma after (according to the recovery guy), one of the coils died.
After a few years in storage I've got the bike back home and long story to short: crank test compression normal, charge battery for 30 hours tries to fire, flushed tank, cleaned petcock.
Bunch of new parts ordered and reinstalled inclusive of new spark plugs, 2 new coils, fuel filter (these being changed first, by the way does everyone else have two fuel filters?), air filter, oil filter and oil to be changed later once I've got the engine running.
The Question: It sounds like it's trying to fire up properly now but no success. Is there anything anyone can suggest that I'm overlooking? I'm guessing the ultimate thing I need to do is probably clean the carbs...
Cheers guys any suggestions a great help.

So im in an ex hein gercik now aj buying some ear plugs, and he sees my old blue BS sticker and starts on about it is now past its use by date or words to that effect - polystyrene going brittle and stuff. It is now 12 years old and done only 10k miles its a HJC ZF-7. I kinda knew they should be replaced regardless but I like it and its still a good fit ive never dropped it and always looked after it. I do need a new dark visor and a new clear one so rather than spending 25 on those two I could put the dosh to a new one but do I really need to solely based on age, it is a fibreglass one. I tried on many and the best fit was another HJC - an IS -17 seems that the HJCs crash test dummy has the same head shape as me. What is the Focer wisdom on this please.

I bought the venhill kit to replace a frayed cable exup cable. I got the old one out and put the new one in and it took maybe ten minutes, then I cut it too short. My fault, I forgot to measure twice before cutting.
Could I get the second cable in? Not a chance! Over an hour later and I have given up. How the hell do you stop the end of the cable from fraying and snagging, stopping it from going through ?
A second question? Should I be using locktight or something on the screw holding the cable in the nipple? Given the heat and vibration, I cant see how it would stay in place?

| Rear Light |

Afternoon all.
Liverpool losing so i have abandoned the football and looking at small problem on t'Fazer.
When starting the bike and with the lights switch in off position, there is no front light (fine) but a bright rear light. The only thing is that when i apply the brake, both rear and front, the light barely changes intensity to register the brake.
Thoughts? Also (and i risk sounding potentially stoopid) should the rear light be on when switch in off position?
