Had the mighty Fazer though out after about 5 months of Scottish winter. Kept it on a battery optimiser and put a fuel stabiliser in for good measure. After about 5 minutes saw the dreaded rev needle going to 7k and back to zero continuously......bastard exup seized me thinks....went straight home nursing and cursing hoping I wouldn't do any damage.
Now question is do I try and fix myself or take it to my expensive trusted mechanic......anyone got any idea what this is likely to be and and what cost
Wennt for a blast on my mates ZZR1400 earlier today. What a machine, absolutely amazing. 9000 rpm in top gear and opened it up and the thing just went faster. Tonight we're going to see Lee Nelson and Joe Wilkinson on stage in Portsmouth. I can't wait.
Can anyone take a quick measurement for me of the frame tube diameter at around the front bottom of the frame, round about where the engine fixing bolts are? Could you also tell me if there is a few mm clearance behind the frame where a 'collar' could be fitted.
I'm due to collect my FZS from Cumbria on 7 April and will be riding it back to Germany a few days later (after a couple of days hooning around the Lakes and Dales, as it would be rude not to, being as how I'm over there anyway). I want to order some highway pegs for the long haul back (I suffer a lot from aches in the hip and knee if my legs are bent for long periods and think fold-down highway pegs will help with this on the long boring motorway bits). To do this in advance, I need to know what diameter the frame is at the approximate location I'd be looking to fit them. If I can order some I can fit them after I collect the bike but before returning to Germany.
My belevod FZS 600 is a bit rough looking after being put to good use throughout last few winters and from a senseless junkie kicking the biker over... the poor poor bike. I am now looking to give it what it deserves - some care and attention.
If anyone have of the following knocking around, I would be really keen to hear from you..
1. Right side rear-view mirror (Or both mirrors)
2. Main / Center stand
3. The standard/single/double bubble screen - even a broken one would do actually - as I am looking for just the bottom 6 inches to repair my MRA touring screen (which is like 100+ to replace, hence the attempt to patch it).
It's not advertised anywhere else yet as I'd like it to go to a good home if possible!
Reg 03/10/2008, so an '09 model I believe. One owner until I bought it on 26/06/2010 from Moto Rapido Ducati in Winchester (where I chopped in an Monster S2R). It's been sorn for a bit as I got into the "Dirt Side" and only gave it a few runs to remind it that there IS a road out there still.. :o I got it MOT'd last week and as I suspected the rear tyre is close to the legal limit..but the front is only a few hundred old (Michelins) otherwise it is great. It is in very good condition, small crack on one of the fork leg plastic bits where some mechanic overtightened a bolt while in the first owners hands and a 1 inch scratch between the riders and pillion seat (probably from a boot). I went over it with a cleaning cloth a few weeks ago and it is in VERY good condition all over. It is in need of a service as it was due for one before it was laid up but this and the tyre I have factored into the asking price.
It has the small Yam black screen, stomp clear grip pads, central tank pad, R&G crash protectors (unused..), R&G tail tidy (origional included), Yam "carbon wrapped" pillion cover and Micron Carbon can (original also included)
It's only done 8,581 miles and rides like a new bike, simplez! If you are interested and would like more details give me a call on 07765600480. I'm located in Farnham, Surrey
Hi. Firstly what does my profile status mean by "cager in training?
More importantly, does any one have a complete clutch basket or the internal parts of the clutch basket. Namely the inner cage and the part that the springs and bolts go into to hold it all in place? Anyone's help would be great to get my bike back up and running.
I'd be really grateful if you could forward this email to as many people as you can. Don't be SHY Moff!! Get it out to as many people as possible - the more the merrier!! And give us yer dosh!
