I'm thinking of selling my FZ6 Fazer and buying a Sprint ST 1050cc, anyone on the forum ever owned one?, if so what are the good and bad points?, I did fancy going for the FZ1 but can't find one that ticks all the right boxes for me, is there any other bike in the 1000cc sport touring genre that might be worth considering? thanks in advance Rob.

Bought myself a standard fazer 1000 gen 1 and it is really good. I've been using it for a few days now and the only slight issue is it seems to be hunting slightly on a steady throttle at 3500 rpm. It's so long ago when i last rode a standard fazer i can't remember if this was a common problem or if there is a solution. The only thing i could think of was old fuel as the bike had covered less than 300 miles in 3 years? I have fitted a venom race can with the front db killer in and the rear one out. Ps.. It seems to be slightly worse when it's cold.

Went to fit a s/s rad guard today. A glance at the Phillips screw heads at the bottom two days ago I just knew it was going to be a PITA. So, been spraying them with penetrating fluid and had a crack at it today. One cracked off ok, the other wasn't having it. Tried heat, more penetrating spray, gave a gentle whack with an impact driver but didn't like doing it on the rad. Ended up chewing up the head so out came the grinder. cut a slot in the head and gave it some with a flat head. Not having none of it. The next step was to grind off the head, centre punch and drill out and find my stud extractor set. I ran out of options when the lug sheered off when I was ay the stud extractor stage. So, can I get the lug or a new one brazed or welded on to my rad or shall I just rely on my little dob of silicone to keep it in place ?
Then to top it all I noticed a thick steel staple in the rear tyre that hissed at me when I attempted to remove it. Too late to get it repaired, needless to say it got pushed back in. :wall Today, was not a good day but I should have known not to touch anything mechanical after my works van blew a hole in the gearbox on Friday. :oops

| Side stand causing engine to cut out in neutral |

Hi, so recently my fazer got stolen and they hot wired it. Luckily i got it back and managed to repair most of the things wrong with it, including reconnecting all the wires to the ignition. Although i am left with one minor problem. If i have the bike in neutral (neutral light on) when i flip down the side stand it cuts the engine out. If i hit the starter switch it will turn over but not fire up. I read somewhere about a relay under the left hand side black panel maybe causing this problem. Any ideas? Also what size are the holes in the front disc, looking at getting a disc lock.
Thanks, Dan.
