  Lowering Revs with sprockets
Posted by: ElkWorks - 03-04-14, 05:56 AM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (31)

Did a test run last night to an area im thinking of moving to, on the fazer as the drzs petrol tank isn't big enough  :'(

the run is approx. 70-80mph stuff for around 40 miles, in which the revs are like 7k, has anyone used different teeth sprockets on the back to get the revs lower? and if so, how have you found it?

I couldn't sell the bike, so im gonna run it into the ground instead...

  Clutch noise
Posted by: davidkent - 02-04-14, 07:13 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (11)

Hi all.

Finally got the fazer back on the road, And extremely chuffed after my local main dealer MOT'd it, passing first time without a single advisory, and they forgot to even charge me for the test!

Anyway, it's an 03 fzs600 and since repairing several bits after a chain snap, I've noticed a tapping noise on idle, which goes when I pull the clutch in.

It had a new front sprocket cover and clutch rod, just a couple of the new bits that id have thought would effect the clutch.

I'm assuming I'll need some kind of a adjustment as the cover was from another used bike.

How can I do this? Is there a particular method as such?

Thanks

Yamaha YZF 1000 Thunderace - ***REDUCED***
Posted by: adeejaysdelight - 02-04-14, 04:39 PM - Forum: For Sale & Wanted - Replies (21)

Yamaha YZF 1000 Thunderace
1996 P reg
21,900 miles
New MoT
Just fully serviced
V5 present
HPI clear
2 keys
Remus full exhaust system with carbon fibre can
Braided hoses
K & N air filter
£1750

I have done loads of work on this bike over the last few months including engine flush, Rad flush, full fluid change (brake, clutch, oil, radiator) full service, all bearings checked, carburettors balanced, suspension reset, WD40 clean and treatment, new stainless steel fasteners and everything torqued up to Yamaha spec.

I have a full and comprehensive list of all the work done on the bike and pictures and parts boxes/containers to back up my claims. There are a couple of pictures of the bike being worked on too. http://foc-u.co.uk/index.php/topic,11047.0.html

There are a few tasteful additions to the bike without it being bastardised, including braided hoses front and back, tail tidy, new petal discs up front, gold x ring chain, K & N air filter and a full Remus exhaust system with carbon fibre silencer (sounds fantastic).

There are a few age related marks here and there and there is a ding on the tank where (I presume) someone has lifted the wrong side of the tank and bumped it off the fairing stay. It is still in very good condition though. The bike is good to go and wants for nothing. It looks good and rides great.

I have reduced the price to as low as I can go. I am making nothing on it, but I would like to move on to my next project before summer. If you want to see her, get in touch. Travelling Foccers will be fed and watered before a long ride home, no charge.
