  first little trip
Posted by: roxysaltmer - 03-04-14, 11:04 PM - Forum: General - Replies (8)

i have a trip planned roughly covering 1000 miles over 5 nights in cheap travel lodges, it will be my first tour of that amount of miles ever on any bike and i am wondering if anyone has any hints or tips on anything to do with touring or places to do or see en route or evenanswer, am i going to be comfortable two up with tank bag, throwovers for long periods in the saddle on my 600 ?.... i will be going from bridlington to kendal on day one, overnight stay in kendal, another day and night in kendal then on to north wales where i will be staying one night in bangor and then heading down to pembroke dock for one night and then merthyr tydfil for my last night and then home which ever route i decide (i am thinking across towards skeg coast and up back home)
thoughts or ideas welcome.. btw i have done a few hundred miles in a sitting on several occasions so have some experience of aches that come with the territory just not on this bike
thanks in advance peeps

For sale - Original Front Indicators - Milton Keynes
Posted by: FuZzBoM - 03-04-14, 09:48 PM - Forum: For Sale & Wanted - Replies (3)

Hi all,

Another garage clear out. On both of these I would prefer collection but can arrange delivery if postage charges paid.
Big Grin Have some OEM front indicators with the plastic mounting plate thing. They are in fairly good condition. no cracks on lens's. Right 1 has a small scuff but this is on the bottom and not visible when fitted.
I have seen these on eBay for £15 each!! Does £20 for the pair sound fair?
These are from a 51 plate FZS1000 But think Yamaha fitted them to pretty much everything at the time?

TAILPACK NOW SOLD
2nd is an Oxford first time tailpack.  it is 28 litres and goes to 36 when extended. comes with all the bungees and the cards to change the colour of the pockets to suite your bike colour. The base also unzips from the main bag turning into a backpack and even a small compartment left on the base on the bike. Really good bit of kit, Only used once and I was really impressed with it. The only reason I am selling is because I now have a topbox so is no longer required. Again ideally looking for £20 but willing to discuss.

  WANTED: Clear lens tail lights
Posted by: emjaydee - 03-04-14, 08:20 PM - Forum: For Sale & Wanted - Replies (13)

Hi,
I've just installed clear lenses onto my indicators and they look good....it will look better if the tail light was also clear lensed.
So, does any one have any clear lens tail light to sell?
Thanks

  Rear wheel/axel noise
Posted by: Gary - 03-04-14, 08:00 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (4)

Well guys .. my FZ1 has developed a squeak at the back wheel. At first I thought it could be the disc being warped but the noise is coming from the opposite side of the wheel - more so in where the axel is.
Im going to remove the wheel and axel but want to put some grease on it - which grease should I use?

If I find the grease doesnt fix it - I might change the axel/wheel bearings. Is this a handy job for a novice?
