Some nice parts for Gen 1 / FZS1000
Posted by: johnfoxllb - 05-04-14, 06:31 PM - Forum: For Sale & Wanted - Replies (10)

Now that my Fazer has sold, I have a few nice accessories to re-home.  All items fit the FZS1000 all years.

Genuine Yamaha flip up screen (no.2 in the pic below) in smoke, £30 delivered.  This is brand new in the original packaging.

Absolutely mint genuine Yamaha radiator guard, £45 delivered

Lust Racing +40mm jack up kit, brand new, never used, £30 delivered

Baglux grey tank cover, mint, unmarked condition, £60 delivered

SW Motech mirror extenders, brand new, in the box, £30 delivered

http://www.motorcycle-road-and-race.co.u...25034.html

Last, but not least, I have a completely, as brand spanking new, genuine Yamaha rear shock absorber which was removed by the previous owner from his bike when new.  It has been kept in a sealed plastic bag covered with a light coat of acf-50. It is indistinguishable from new and I think a new one costs £300 ish.  I'm asking £100 delivered (it's obviously a little heavy).

Paypal as a gift or bank transfer is fine on all of the above.  Send me a pm if you want an item.  If you snooze you lose!

A Return To The Forum (with an FZ1)
Posted by: MadDogMcQ - 05-04-14, 04:43 PM - Forum: Introduction - Replies (6)

Hi,
In case you don't know me, I'm Tom from the posh part of the NW - Bolton  :lol

I've been a member for a while as an FZS1000 owner and ended up selling it. I have now come back to the fold with an FZ1-S in that weird (but attractive) Teal Tech colour. It's the first time I've seen one "in the flesh". My bike is a 2007 model with 18,000 miles on the clock, in superb condition!

Already(!) I've replaced the screen for a Puig Racing tall screen, installed a set of new pipes (which sound fabulous) and fitted a PUIG Carbon Belly Pan. Also added some crash-protection bobbins, front and rear. Next up will be heated grips and satnav.

Good to be back  Wink

Tom

  Wont start
Posted by: Roadie - 05-04-14, 04:42 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (3)

Finally went to get the old girl started today after eventually getting the timing cover gasket delivered.  I cannot see where anything has changed as I only removed the covers on the engine to see what may have been causing it not to turn over after sitting idle for over a year.  Turned out it only seemed to be really gummed up.

Turns over well even on an FZS600 battery but it struggled to start, sounded like three cylinders, take the choke off it died.  Not it wont start at all.  I notice that with the ignition off the tacho needle is pointing to 6 o'clock ?!  Crank it over it kicks up towards the zero marker but is obviously on the wrong side of the stop.

When the timing cover came off it took the long dowel out with it.  Any chance it may have slipped on the chain?  I dont see why that would kick off the tacho?

All seems very odd Sad

Any help appreciated before I call the local mechanic out to take it away to fix.

  WANTED, NOW FOUND - FZS1000
Posted by: mickvp - 05-04-14, 03:38 PM - Forum: For Sale & Wanted - Replies (91)

I think I have finally decided to stick with the fazer fold for my next bike, in the shape of an FZS1000, Ive got a max budget of around £2500. will consider any colour but would rather it wasnt silver (as we all know, those are the slowest, and most rubbish).

I would prefer something within ~200 miles from Glasgow, but may travel for the right bike.

PM me if you have something that may be suitable please.  Thanking You Smile

  EXUP or not to EXUP
Posted by: keithfzs1000 - 05-04-14, 12:30 PM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (4)

:eek :eek :eek

however not the same as old threads of just pulling the valve out or jamming open

Arrow, Akra and GPS all do a full titanium system granted lots beer tokens and or  like rocking horse shit to get hold of
but if i were to get my seedy little paws on one  Wink Wink and my bike being fully ivanised then do these eliminate the loss at lower end you get if i just took the foccin exup out? and if these do what about the cheap sandy bikes headers although s/s are heavier

:evil :evil :evil
