im bored, its raining and I have to mow the moss...but I cant as its wet..if I stay indoors, er indoors will find me something to do.
so my plan is to hide in the garage.. :lol

Hi Guys,
Just joined the forum. Have been riding bikes for 15 years now and owned the following Yamaha XJ600, Yamaha FJR, Honda CBR 600f and Triumph Street Triple R which I sold 2 years ago.... Did a couple of trips across Europe - Croatia twice one for my honeymoon, Germany, Czech Republic.
Now looking to get back to riding as last year I spent renting bikes for weekends and missed riding more badly. Fazer 1000 was a bike I tested a number of years back and this memory never faded.... Of the bikes I owned none was so versatile in terms of relaxed comfortable position (the reason I sold CBR 600f), nimble and light (FJR went) and decent fairing (Triumph was best handler of all but hard to live with on a motorway despite small fairing it had)
Looking for a nice low mileage example of Fazer 1000. I am based in Dublin but will happily travel for the right bike. That would be a great trip back home!
Best Regards to all
Paul

| Exhaust collars |

Ok, I've not seen this pop up on here before so may be a new issue for older Gen 1 Fazer |Thous.
The exhaust collars on pots 2 and 3 on my bike are in what can only be described as shit state. Pots 1 and 4 are fine, look almost new, but the middle two are in such a bad way that harsh language would probably make them crumble away to dust. Other than that the rest of the downpipe area is fine, exup valve free of stickiness, downpipes nice and shiney etc.
But, as the collars are designed so that they just don't come off, has anyone seen, or have a solution to replacing totally goosed ones without forking out for a new set of downpipes, whole exhaust system blah blah.
I have visions of crappy exhaust sealing and that irritating ticitty ticcitty ticitty tick noise when the poor old things become too weak to do their job properly.
Suggestions/ advice please.
