  Wanted - '98 FZS600 Givi parts
Posted by: AdamC - 07-04-14, 01:19 PM - Forum: For Sale & Wanted - No Replies

Hi

After picking up a Givi monorail and case on this good forum I'm looking for a few bits (factored in to the price I paid and Givi UK subsequently being of little help):

1. Right hand support bracket - the bolt has seized in it and said bolt head sheared off when trying to remove it, it's item 2 (right hand equivalent) here: http://media.givi.it/Prodotti/istruzioni/340F.pdf

2. Bolts ands spacers - items 3, 5, 6 & 7

Probably a long shot but if anybody has any of the above I'd be very happy to buy them from you.

Cheers

Adam

My mate's Kawasaki ZXR400 for sale
Posted by: mr self destruct - 07-04-14, 11:57 AM - Forum: For Sale & Wanted - Replies (8)

Apologies if this is against any forum rules (I did look but couldn't find any info), Mods feel free to delete if it does.

My mate is selling his ZXR400 via Autotrader and ebay with no luck, so I thought I'd mention it here.

Here's the link to the expired listing for pictures and info. Bike is still for sale as of 7-4-14:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Kawasaki-ZXR40...4d1b1a9e12

Located in Kenilworth, Warks.

Tax & Mot Feb 2015, about 12,000 miles on it, bloody good condition, 2003 model.

He's selling because it was restricted to 33bhp as per the old rules and his 2 year restriction expired, so he's looking for something bigger (and yes I'm trying to talk him into a Fazer!  Big Grin )
I say it was restricted, he had a set of 47bhp restrictors professionally fitted to suit the new A2 licence catrgory with a certificate to prove.
These bikes are 67bhp as standard and bloody quick for a 400.

1st time it was listed it never made the reserve of £2,200, second time no reserve starting at £1,950 but no bids.

He says he'd ideally like around the £2k mark but will be happy with anything over £1,900

Give Lewis a ring on 07854 312444 for more details.

  ABS brakes ?
Posted by: locksmith - 07-04-14, 11:42 AM - Forum: General - Replies (36)

Never had ABS on a bike, whats it like?

Looking at an MT-09 and the ABS I can have much quicker than the non-abs model.

I think they said £400 difference, is it worth it?

Can you still change your own pads and clean and lube the callipers and pistons?

FZS600 parts coming your way..maybe August time..who's interested.
Posted by: noggythenog - 07-04-14, 11:38 AM - Forum: For Sale & Wanted - Replies (130)

Ok i've made my mind up.....when i get back from my Scotland trip in June i'm gonna strip the noggyfighter..an MOT'd & well loved bike that took a tumble....it is sad to strip her....but even sadder to just give her away....1 fazer shall die to keep many others alive.

As it will be a foccers only sale i'll check prices on ebay & breakers etc....then i'll reduce mine so that they are the cheapest (unless some knobber is selling stuff stupidly low, it wont be a charity).

Pic shows bike in all its glory, pic taken a few days ago.

BLING BITS:-

BLue silicone coolant hoses (some still not fitted)....very rare items (group buy only)-Thunderoants dibs.
Fancy CNC fazer engraved torque arm.(my favourite part)..also very rare..only ever seen 1 other.Mwales dibs

Red Fox rear hugger in grey carbon type effect.fazersharp dibs - awaiting confirmation.

Renthal Blue annodised bar ends.Thunderoants dibs.
Set of Perception components jack up dog bones (greater than 25mm rise).Mwales dibs
Set of lowering dog bones (lower than originals, on bike when i bought it).Andyl dibs
Polisport MX headlight (anyone got an old mx bike?).Havoc dibs with bracket & indicators
Simmi performance end can & baffle, superficial damage & scrapes but still works & sounds ace.keeping as a shed ornament
Renntec crash bars...need a proper paint job...please see current paint as merely protection as i cant paint. Now sold.
K&N air filter with about 3k miles on it.Mwales dibs.

Sport front fender in black - D8nny6 dibs.

Yamaha xt660 mirrors.Havoc Dibs.

Left rear footrest & hanger - Lazarus dibs.

Seat - Boristhethird dibs.

Forks - Crh dibs.

Original 2 front brake calipers - Tefer dibs.

Rear Caliper - Tefer dibs.

Centre stand - Andybesy dibs.

Triangle covers (the lock ones) - Emjaydee dibs.

Swingarm - Emjaydee dibs.

BITS OF INTEREST:-

Wheels & tyres...only just fitted Michellin Pilot 3's  - update - may sell wheels complete with new tyres with no more than 1k miles plus discs - price tbc.

2 x spare blue spot front calipers (as is of Christos bike).
Extra pillion grab rail...so 1xblack & 1xSilver.- black one possibly Taylor dibs.
Fully intact aftermarket fibreglass boxeye fairing requiring paint.
Bulletproof engine that doesnt jump gears etc...treated with activ8 additive...will have done circa 18k miles at sale time....has been fitted with upgraded sprocket nut so no shaft issues with the gearbox.- update will only have 15k miles - fizzypies dibs.

Carbs....never give me any issues....i store over winter & they haven't got blocked or stuck open...i have been using fuel additives over winter store & after starting up...they'll be getting well used prior sale so ideal time to get whilst known working & haven't sat around for ages.

As well as the original front fairing mount sub frame which has been bent into position...i also have a straight one which i got from a foccer...i'll sand it down & paint it with hammerite...looks like it came from a fazer that was in all weathers rather than crashed....like rocking horse shite in non bent condition.

Also have an extra tail section centre piece......in slow Blue :b

Original screen.

Left side mirror and bracket.

BAD BITS

Rear brake switch wiring need properly attaching.
Tank has a dent & scrape but is useable.
Right side rear plastic has been scratched & scraped & covered up.
Right side engine cover at bottom has been scraped & covered up...still useable.

EVERYTHING ELSE

As per normal

  FZ8 Fly Screen
Posted by: Dibsy74 - 07-04-14, 09:30 AM - Forum: Fazer 8 / FZ8 - Replies (1)

Anyone got any thoughts on the best fly screen. Looking at the Yamaha original, the Puig, and the Givi.
Prefer the look of the givi but has anybody got any input on the best for wind deflection.
Thanks

  rear tail
Posted by: lee2475 - 07-04-14, 08:36 AM - Forum: Fazer 1000/FZ1 corner - Replies (6)

Hi Folks

Im going to have ago at the rear tail on the gen1 soon, But i have a few questions.

I cannot see how the rear mud guard is attached to the undertray without removing it.

I understand it needs some work to do this and I can get a second hand rear undertray without the rear mudguard, Will this be of any use? As i dont want to hack my original up incase all goes pear shaped  Sad  Knowing me with plastic this is possible.

Thanks Lee
