So I've had this R6 exhaust kicking around for a while now. I bought it by mistake (long story), and it's just taking up space. Free to any foccer who might have a use for a reasonable standard R6 can.

  Carbs or something else, maybe?
Posted by: Sannox - 08-04-14, 10:04 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (29)

Got a problem with the bike, 2002 FZS, been great but had some misfire issues last winter, would start ok then would drop to 3 or even 2 cylinders after a few miles, always when under 5 Deg C or so, could get the other cylinders to fire if I revved it up or ride for 10 miles and they would kick in like a turbo!!! However..... maybe related.......

Now, as in April, if I ride easy on the throttle, no problem, she goes as a Fazer can, if I snap open the throttle, it's like hitting a rev limiter and the bike judders as though I'm not on all 4 cylinders, doesn't matter what gear I'm in and always under load, (In neutral and at a standstill, I can't replicate it) If I roll off the throttle and slow back on, the bike runs fine.

The plug were new 2k miles ago, 36k on the bike, stripped the barbs down and the diaphrams are clean, no perishing, the float bowls are clean, no gunk though had some crap under the diaphrams.

Any idea's as I'm all out.

Hi all, new on here though I have read the forum stuff without joining. On second FZS 600, had a 2003 model from new and now on a 2002 model that I've now had for nearly 4 years and loving every second of it. Got some issues with the Fazer, who hasn't, looking to see who can help and if I can help with my experience with anyone else's problems.

more out of curiosity really and to raise our postings, getting bored of not seeing new posts on our thread :lol :

What is the FZ and Fazer 8 based on, what parts does it share, is it virtually the same bike as the FZ1?

Hi,

I have recently purchased a 2014 fazer 8 so thought I'd join the club in the hope of getting to know more like minded people that share my huge interest in bikes.

Cheers, Brian.

  ACF 50
Posted by: theglove1978 - 08-04-14, 07:40 PM - Forum: FZS600 Fazer - Replies (21)

OK - over the harsh unforgiving wet as hell winter, i didn't exactly lavish my Fazer with a huge amount of attention.  Sometime in February when it stopped raining, i dragged the old girl out (the bike) and noticed that the rear sprocket, chain, crash bar fixings, callipers, exhaust, cylinder head, front forks and various other bits all looked rather tired. Just realised i have pretty much described ALL of the bike there  :lol

Last weekend i went mad with a bottle of ACF 50 and have to say the results were ruddy marvellous.  Obviously i didn't use on the brakes and understanding that its not a polish, i was pleased to see the results and i seep knowing that it is protected from the merest hint of moisture!

Looking forward to taking her out from Morecambe to Whitby this weekend!
