Getting ready for winter..

Took a switched live from the rear light and tandem wired two relays in. Initially it all looked a bit messy, what with the heated grips, my heated vest, the missus heated vest, optimate lead, kitchen sink..

Though it got tidier, used the space vacated by my exhaust servo cables to site the relays and fuses..

Have you checked your altenator puts out enough juice to power all those extras? I am guessing they would put quite a strain on your electrics.

That's a good point mate, summat I thought about but as I don't know much about electrics decided beforehand To use grips and my vest if I'm on me tod, grips and her vest if she's on the back.

And if the battery goes flat you'll keep warm pushing the bike home.......lol

If you have details for the amount of current 'amps' used for each item you can work out the total used per item and when all being used together, then take a look in the manual, which shows the maximum supply given. As long as the amperage of all your items are less than the output then you should be okay. I could work it all out for you if i had a manual and details of all your items.

Thanks mate, that's much appreciated. I've found in the past that when it gets really cold if I use the heated vest, my hands don't get cold with decent gloves. Summat to do with your body not having to draw heat from your extremities to protect your organs...feet stay warm too. Made a bracket for the exo controller, didn't like having it on that inner..

A quick way to check is to start bike then plug everything in and turn on. Leave ticking over 'don't rev it' for 5 mins and check the voltage of the battery. the bike won't give maximum voltage to the battery until around 4000rpm, so if it's overloading the charging system you will find the voltage low on the battery and possibly lights dimming etc..
