Howdy doodle!
« on: 20 July 2013, 06:36:01 pm »
Hello y'all, bought a 2002 FZS 600 last Monday, to replace the BMW R100S i blew up the previous Saturday.
to be honest, i should have bought a Fazer before i got the Beemer, i've always fancied one and now i have one, i find that it's twice...nay thrice the bike that the Beemer was.
Anyway, hope to find some tricks on the forum to make the Fazer even better than it already is, if that's possible?

George  :)

hi and welcome.
I know some people don't like BMs, but to resort to blowing it up is a little extreme, no? :lol

The BM was 33 years old Nick, it replaced a 2008 Triumph Thruxton which i had for four years but found it way too heavy and not the best handling bike i've had, the BM was much better handling and weight wise, lower centre of gravity which made it feel lighter.
The reason the BM started knocking?...i forgot to check the oil level, although i gave her a full service before i went to the TT, so i was more than surprised that the oil ran out so quickly (not literally ran out!!).
It was probably burning it.
Anyway, after 40-odd years of biking, i'm rather ashamed that i destroyed her, i'll either sort her out or sell her as she is. we'll see.

Thanks for the warm welcome guys.

Cheers Billy, yep, some wicked roads here in Wales, nice n twisty mountain roads, plus the usual stop off at Betwys y coed, then of course the ride to the Ponderosa cafe on the Horseshoe pass in Llangollen.

Hi George, I was wondering if you were ever going to get round to getting that Fazer! When are you next over this way? Pop in and have a brew when you are in the area.  :thumbup
