I have no idea but Im sure there is ! but the'll probably do nothing !  if it was a bike on the other hand !

you could try a quick call to your local police station, if you can find the number ? if not 101 non emergency number might help

I would dial 101 (the police non-emergency number) and ask the question.

Even if they don't prosecute, they'll likely drop round the registered owner's house for a word in his ear.

I know people who've been on the end of this - and deservedly so - splashing people with puddles is not nice! But shows they do often act even in absence of evidence.

Then I'd post it to YouTube with the reg in the video name so that it'll come up in a search for that reg number.

Then I'd post a linky here so we can all watch the muppet

normally i'd just let it go, but as he was overtaking vehicles well into a 30 mph zone that's more than i'm willing to let go.
if he does this too much it won't be long before someone gets knocked over or worse killed.

Ok so the bloke was a cock, but if your gonna drive round with a cam on your dash and report every twat on the road to the police youre gonna be a busy chap!!
Splashing people in puddles might not be nice but its hardly the crime of the century and its bloody funny. If your gonna tie the plod up reporting stuff like that, dont moan when they are late coming to your house when your bike gets nicked. They really have got better things to do!!!!

So with that in mind all twats on the roads should just be let off then?

I would report it and stick it on Youtube, with the reg number as said. I don't have one of these sportscams, but I think I will get one for this very reason. How many times have you been cut up by some toolbag and nothing is done about it.

I'd probably curse them at the time, then forget about it. If that's how they ride, they'll get their come-uppance in due time, hopefully without harming anyone else, but I can't change the world.

That's the problem, they just might hurt someone if they carry on like that. They need reporting!

Cant believe there is anyone on here that hasnt done 80 up the motorway, how would you feel if you got some saddo going to the police with video evidence just cos they didnt think you were driving safely????

Might have been stupid but one was hurt, forget it,

splashing people with puddles is not nice!

Quote
Driving through a puddle to splash bystanders is an offence of "careless, and inconsiderate, driving" under the Road Traffic Act section 3 and carries a fine of up to £2,500.

Four years ago, a driver who admitted soaking a workman by driving through a puddle was fined £150 and given three penalty points by magistrates in Yeovil.

Yeah, I suppose getting soaked by someone driving through a puddle is funny - as long as you're in the dry.

Try having that done to you on the way to an interview.

I don't want a nanny state, but neither do I want a lawless society. Zero tolerance is the way to go - if we don't like the laws being enforced then lobby for them to be changed.

It was a mate of mine who got reported after doing it to a bus stop full of people.

Police knocked on his door and basically said "don't be a pratt".  :rollin  I thought that was a fairly balanced way to deal with it.

I've had it done to me a few times when walking to work. Can I see the funny side? Yes. But it sucks to turn up to work piss wet through.

Yeah, zero tollerance...... Everyone take your loud cans off your bikes, put your big number plates back on and clear visors. NEVER EVER break the speed limit EVER. Put all those headlight mods back to normal if your running on main beam, do not do wheelies or carry a pen knife in your pocket.... etc etc.
A bloke overtook in a thirty and weaved between the traffic, If he got caught then I dont have a problem with him being nicked for it, but do we really want jo public running to the police with video camera evidence every time some one does something wrong??

Yes because thats the only way, because there are no traffic police any more so he won't get caught.

lets face it, we all ride fast at times, but mostly on roads where there is less chance of killing or maiming someone. but if someone is a danger to the public especially where children are, i would try and get something done about it. years ago there was an old fella who coudnt drive or see very well and would weave about and we thought it was funny. one day his foot slipped off the clutch and he sailed into a lady walking past, severing her leg at the knee. it wouldnt have happened if i had made that call. the guy you mentioned may not get prosecuted, but a visit from plod wouldnt do him any harm.

The point here is.... You might be speeding where you think its safe, but someone else might see you and think you are driving/riding like a twat. Do you want everyone to video you and hand it to the police???

If I parked up near box hill or squires videoing bikes and handed it into the police. Id expect to get lynched.

Dodsie, where do you think the complaints to police come from, outer space? A lot of them ARE from the general public.
If you think something isn't right, report it. No matter how well you THINK you know the law, ill bet In reality all you really know is the highway code. Traffic law is considerably more complex than that. Let the cops decide if any, what action to take. Its their job believe it or not!

I think we need to understand that theres riding or driving like a knob !  something we all do or have done at times yes I did say ALL
and then theres riding or driving like a knob thats dangours ! and a slap on the wrist just isnt good enough !

The difficulty is who are we to judge ?
