Max out the preload, and possibly add a couple clicks of compression damping. About all you can do, but you should get used to it!

Getting stressed wont help, you will just end up more tense when riding, which is tiring. You will soon get used to the difference in fact you wont notice it once you get some saddle time in. If its your first time to Scotland enjoy its great, im going again in July

More preload on the front to stop it diving so much on the brakes

keep the heavy stuff in the panniers and really light stuff in the top box then ride it like you stole it

All of the above but don't take your hands off the bars slowing down. If you do, prepare for the mother of all tankslappers as you decelerate through 25mph.

I could help you get rid of the beer. Where are you going? Try and post some pictures when you get back.
Enjoy.
