60 miles of Leicestershires best up and down and round and round roads with hardly a car in sight -- bliss -- cold bliss.
But lots of dry salt on the roads and spent as long cleaning it as I did riding it, pictures to follow tomorrow

Tell me about it! 5.00 this morning and I rode in to work as I couldn't be arsed to defrost my wife's car to move it to get to mine.
Halfway along the M6 I was thinking this may have been a mistake. Got to work and a mate said "Fuck me it's -3 out there!"
Add 90mph worth of wind chill.....

After the frosty weather a couple of days ago, I ordered some hand guards to keep the wind off. They came last night and fit a treat. Don't stick out like a sore thumb either.

Enough clearance on full lock so no worries there.

They're only cheap Chinese eBay jobbies so if they don't work I've only lost £20, but they seem to do the job ok.

The only obvious downside being the brake lever mounting bolt. It's only just long enough on its own, and putting the bracket in place meant I couldn't get the nut on fully. Not wanting to risk it vibrating loose and the lever falling off, I replaced it with a longer bolt. This meant the shoulder was smaller, making the lever a tad loose, but it'll stay on until I can get a replacement turned to size at work.

I installed daytime running lights:

They do not look very bright on the picture, but they will hurt your eyes even in daylight. Since I put the HID projectors, I had to remove the headlight modulator, so I intend to use the modulator on the running lights. The running lights have a broader angle so they are very visible even for vehicles coming from a side road.

Part exchanged it. Actually felt quite sad. It was a brilliant bike that I have enjoyed owning and working on for 3 1/2 years. Still, I get to play on this now and I think I love it already

Took the cover off and looked at it. And it wasn't even today I did this, but yesterday

It looks very nice. Very shiny. Which I'm quite pleased about, it having sat outside underneath that cover for the best part of 2 months without moving. I was also pleased to note that the job I did on cleaning and de-rusting the chain seems to have halted the rot there. Bit of rust on the rear disc (why not the fronts as well?), but that'll disappear the first time it's used in anger again.

So while I was at it, I took a couple of shots for the family album:

Washed and chamoised it and applied a coat of ACF50 .
