Just about to jump on it and ride from Dublin airport

Got the thou outta the shed, adjusted the Gilles rear sets as far back and upwards as they go..........the gear lever was too high so my toe was resting on it on the level & it was too much of a whole leg lift excercise when trying to up change.

So i adjusted the lever right down by taking the mechanism off the splines and i got the lever quite far down and was pretty happy with it all.

Went to put it back in the shed and put the side stand up and "ting" foc!.......the little spiggot for getting your boot on to pop down the stand is now hitting against the underside of the lever......ffs

So im gonna have to adjust the lever back up a bit.

My only other thought after head scratching......if i cant lower the lever as far as i want it then perhaps i can raise the peg........but the peg is fixed........so maybe i can purchase a thicker, chunkier peg for the Gilles which will then mean that my foot is higher above the lever?????.......could it be that simple???

Picked up my custom rear brake torque arm from my m8's nice one off bit of kit.......and heaps better than the stock one.....

No mines the last of the gen 1's and they came with black engine, black frame and black swingarm.......

Oh. I didn't realise they put the black engines in a 53 plated bike (2003/2004).

One happy Zippywight! Fitted Givi rack and top box then replaced front sprocket nut. Tomorrow..... Spit n polish! Wash some of the horrible road salt off her from today's general ride around.

They've gone over the top this year with the salt.

Agreed with salt the roads are white! And a speed bump around the corner has a mound of it. Think they thought that 1 metre square was gonna get hammered bythe snow and ice! Still.. No snow in Gosport!?

Couple of hours in the garage today chain all adjusted, new custom brake torque arm, exhaust back on, a bit more cleaning, next onto oil change, new plugs, new air filter, then onto new fork seals as one is leaking fecking thing lol oh and new sbs front pads.....

Two Fazer 1000 models in Europe Union from 03 to 05 the FZS1000 and the FZS1000S

FZS1000 had silver engine and swinging arm

FZS1000S had black engine and Swinging arm

Got back out on the thou after it being stood for 7-8 weeks - battery was almost flat and couldn't start the bike but luckily had the spare that I got from noggy so put that one in and it took A LOT of cranking to get it going as it stuttered and spluttered before finally clearing. It ran fine once it was started and proceeded to go exploring where I found a few new nice roads that actually had a decent road surface and had no other traffic on them. Front tyre still feels way off though, especially on right hand bends but it will be coming off soon and will be replaced with a T30

Needs a damn good clean, but that will come when I take it to All Year Biker to have its ACF treatment again

Got bike out for a little ride to see misis over dinner, sadly she had to work through her dinner so had more time to take the long way home

Charged up the battery , refitted & started 1st press of button , checked the tyres , front was fine , rear had lost a couple of psi . Took it out for an hour , rode down the A38 , up through Burrington , onto A39 , down to A37 and back into Bristol , roads were mainly dry , a bit greasy in places through Burrington , great to blow off a few cobwebs , got a bit cold towards the end , roll on spring .

I got a set of R&G bar ends for Renthals they seem to be proper weighted unlike the Renthal bar plugs which are just that....plugs.........what sort of adhesion did you use for the switch gear out of interest......i went a bit mental on my night shift and ordered some handlebar tape that the lunatic mile munching cyclists use on their bars but usually a bit o whatever tape is lying around seems to do the trick.
