Had to bump start it this morning (that was focing hot work!).

Every now and again for a reason unknown to me I go to start the bike and it's flat as a pancake.  New battery last year, did it on the old one too.  Does it about twice a year.  Very odd.  I had ridden the bike 2 days previous too, so hardly been sitting long.

Leave it until Sunday, I'm sure Paul and Midden will love to point out all the issues and have go at fault finding for you, be like last year all over again :rollin

I'm just going to bring a visitors book along on Sunday and leave it on the saddle when we're parked up, people can then leave comments without bothering me! I can then throw them in the bin read them diligently over a cuppa when I get home.  :rolleyes

Check the Alternator and Rectifier. The Rectifier on my FZ6 was on the way out which knackered the battery as it was not getting charged properly.

Finally made use of the thou to ride to work... may have had something to do with the fact that the car has no fuel and possibly some collapsed suspension...

I collected it from the dealer in Abergele after it's 40,000 kms service and MOT. Rode from there to Bala, via Brenig. Dinner in Bala, then home via Corwen, Llandegla, Bwlchgwyn. A bit of rain on the way home.

I've been having similar issues but it has finally loaded... not sure on the cause as I can't see anything too troublesome

Yeah... I was going to bump and then realised it would have taken 15 more posts and that just felt a bit over the top...

I do seem to somehow occasionally manage to load this page though :)

Downey, not sure how you managed it, but the site seemed to go in a huff when you used the :useless smiley.

Bizarre.

135 mile round trip to Castlewood Cafe, Uttoxeter and back. Warm, dry, quiet roads. Good food and fellow bikers at the cafe. A perfect day.

Bumped into Bristol Banger at Megastore, Swindon, where we'd both gone to get summer jackets for the couple more really hot days we might have...if we're lucky  :rolleyes

Nice to meet you Steve, and be able to thank you face to face for the work you put in with the hedgetrimmers  :thumbup

A day of bumping into people - also someone I've done a couple of ride outs with from another forum. Kind of rare for me, as I don't really know anyone in my local area.

I was able to go for my first proper run out on mine today, I have gone from impressed to absolutely gob smacked.
This bike is astounding!!

I have been used to my 650 Versys and cruisers over the last few years so I am used to stiring the pot to get some performance, what that equates to on the Fazer is seriously silly speeds when you think you are bimbling along. This is no bad thing but I will have to recalibrate my throttle response. That being said I did play with a Fireblade for a while and I was not embarrassed, which is a very nice change.
But what makes it even better and proves what an all rounder it is, is riding through small villages at 30 and it is as smooth as you like.

I am going to have to play with the suspension a bit because it is not to my taste, I like it hard on the front and a bit softer on the rear to suit my riding and it is the wrong way round at the moment.

The seat is comfortable, I did an hour ride and I had no numbness, I reckon I could do a couple of hours more before I needed to have a walk around.

All in all I am properly happy with the bike.

So, after all the work on the Fazer, today I took it for a shakedown run, it behaved very well despite not having an EXUP valve fitted, very quick reasonable handling and good brakes. The only problem was I could feel the chain and sprockets grinding. Straight to Foleys Bike Shop in Fenton, Stoke, to find they had a set in destined for another Fazer to be fitted a week on Monday. The card came out and the kit was stuffed down my jacket, then off to my mates unit so I could fit them on a ramp. A couple of hours later and im off up the road at a great rate of knots with no nasty noises. Im just about satisfied with it for now, we go to Europe on Thursday and im happy that it will make it there and back. I reckon after spending £435 on it to get it to state its in now, its worth about what I paid for it.

They better be good bikes these Fazers.
