Its a long shot but was wondering if anyone knows any good....central....cheap hotels in Amsterdam?  :evil

Im helping to put a Stag weekend together for 6 - 8 lads. ive been 3 times before but the hotel i used to use seems to have gone up a bit.

A group of 8 of us stayed in "Youth Hostel Meetingpoint" a few years back it was fairly central, had a late bar and was cheap. You paid per bed per night and they had oil drums with locks in the dorms for bags if you can't fill a room. Location was good, not far from the train station and within walking distance of all the museums, takeaways and tram stops.

Stopped here on a stag do a few years back, it's a converted orphanage on the edge of the centre, but easily walkable or a cheap taxi ride & they've also got a pretty good nightclub in what used to be the church on the site.
