Fuel Tank removal
« on: 10 September 2012, 08:31:40 pm »
Hi guys, just wondering if the tank on the FZS600 1998 is vacuum or not. I want to remove the tank to get at the speedo thing under there but i don't want petrol pissing everywhere.

Any help greatly appreciated

Cheers Lewis

it should be fairly simple to remove but simpler to just lift.
top bolt off, lift a bit and declip the fuel switch. A rod or a bit of wood about a foot and a half long to prop it up and go do your thing. if you want to remove it altogether, turn the tap at the base of it, remove the overflow pipes and do the long bolt at the rear side and take it off.

I've have been told there is a sender unit under the fuel tank for the speedometer.

the fuel sender is the one you declip. you won't have to remove tank completely to get at it I should think
