First month of ownership
« on: 30 July 2012, 01:30:29 pm »
Had the 600 about a month now ..no issues , did a d,i.y.job on the headlight , it now has two dip beams , got rid of a large top-box and rack that came with it, also replaced the mini indicators that were fitted to the rear, and put on foam grips, I went to a meet in Margate wednesday night, met a guy flogging a 52 plate with 2100 miles for £1100 GUTTED ! I paid £1200 for mine , and it was a cat C in 2002  :( ..still onwards and upwards ,I/ve got to get a double bubble to keep some of the wind off , the indicators don't self cancel , don't know if that's a fault or if the are all like that , all my other Yams self cancelled , even back in the 1970's minor gripe ,  still having cheap fun :) ...Tony

Better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it...

I just changed my screen to the puig double bubble screen, I wouldn't say that it doesn't work, it merely changes the flow slightly which for me at 6ft and a bit has helped. Before I had a very low frequency buffeting within the helmet that made journeys at more than 65 mph uncomfortable even with ear plugs, since changing the screen this has been reduced enough to make it less of an inconvenience. It looks better than the stock screen too in my opinion. Certainly not an essential purchase, don't buy just for the wind protection but if your after the look of the double bubble then I would recommend it, got mine from BS motoparts (http://www.bs-motoparts.com/) on ebay and arrived from Germany within 3 days, not bad at all.
