Tax Disc

Before i make maybe a ass of myself on the phone to the dvla can anyone enlighten me,
like anyone i like to get my monies so if i paid 6 months tax i would like 6 months worth not 5 , i brought my tax on the 20th feb 2012 6 months £30, on the tax disc it says paid till 31st of july but the post office stamp says 20th of feb been on the dvla and it says tax renew on or before 1 august so to me im losing 20 days of tax not what i paid for ?? have i got the right to complain??? :rolleyes

Yep, all discs run till the end of a month - if you want a full 6 months worth, then you have to tax on the 1st of a month

DD, it has been that way since they introduce the tax disk system.
6 months or 12 including the one you are in UNLESS you are renewing a tax disk. The ONLY exception is when buying a new car or bike that wont be allowed out of the dealers till the 1st of the month then you can tax it in advance despite not renewing it.
