Several times this evening I've had a 500 Internal Server Error whilst trying to read posts or reply to them on here.

Anyone else had problems?

I was getting them all day yesterday too mate, kept hitting refresh and it was hit or miss if it would work

It was probably an issue with the host.

I was getting them a lot on the laptop and main pc but oddly not on the HTC mobile.

Same here laptop error but ok on HTC mobile ???????? Glad it wasn't just me.

Somebody has misconfigured the Apache web server somewhere along the line. That is usually the most common cause of this error. Apache has come across a setting in one of its configuration files that it doesnt understand or can't correctly parse, thus it throws up an error and is unable to serve the page to the unfortunate person who sent the request.

I work in web development so if site owners / web hosts want a hand then let me know. Obviously, if they are anything like me, they like to run their own systems and not let any bugger touch them :P

I'm sure Frazer is on to it. It seems to be intermittent, so it's not down completely.

Please contact the server administrator, webmaster@foc-u.co.uk and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.
More information about this error may be available in the server error log.
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Thanks dead eye for the offer. We use a shared hosting company and so don't have direct access to their servers. They are investigating the problem (intermittent ones are always the toughest) and I'll keep you updated.
