Just bought a tracer 9GT and become a 3 bike owner

Happy to say I still only have one bum albeit a big one :)

Welcome to the Tracer owners club. Mine is not a GT btu has all the paniers and box on a 2016 MT-09 Tracer.

If the GT is like mine, a Bagster seat will be a great improvemnet.

Other than this morning the seat has been fairly comfortable. I've been playing around with the preload setting  which can make quite a difference to comfort :)

I have not ridden the FZS1000, but have ridden the FZS600, FZ6 and FZ1. The Tracer is like a cross between the FZS600 and FZ6 for nimbleness but much bigger than these physically. Ride-ability to me is much better than the FZ1 and doesn't feel as big and cumbersome either but probably just as quick. Certainly much quicker than the 600's

Pretty pleased with it so far. Had to sort the suspension, forks way too soft and rear shock abysmal. In with K-Tech linear springs and 7.5w oil, much better. Rear shock replaced with ZX6 unit and loads better.

Plus throttle bodies balanced and O2 eliminator which have improved the snatchy throttle immensely.

Not as powerful as the thou but I knew that. More comfortable riding position although yet to test the seat for anything more than 100 miles.

So how much seat time do you get in through before your bum starts to hurt, mind is about 1-1.5hrs. If your is the same, I would be couris to hear if the tracer is better in that regard..

Good point.

I don’t have the most generous arse so have always had uncomfortable moments on multiple bikes. My FZS1000 has gel pads but on a Euro tour last year with full riding days I was becoming uncomfortable.

The Tracer has a weird angle on the seat that seems to make you slide forward into the tank. Known issue - mod to put some washers under the front mount to raise it slightly. I’ve done this but not tested it. I have a long weekend planned so expect I’ll be doing 1000 miles ish over Friday -Monday. That will be the test!

I lasted about an hour on the standard Tracer seat then the Bagster on got ordered. Can go 2 hours plus now. Its the bladder that forces the stops now

Thankfully bladder is okay 😀.
Got a sheepskin as backup. Been looking for a second hand bagster but they get snapped up.
