+1 on that slimwilly, but drinks fuel when pushed hard, and an oak bench is more comfortable than the riders seat. Would I swap it for anything else? not a chance most smiles per miles I've had for a long time.

2006 bikes had fueling glitches that were fixed from 2007 on.

from what i have heard, a completely different beast to the gen 1 - i wouldn't know as i've not ridden one of those. the gen 2 is like an unfaired R1. riding position is nice - almost supermoto, seat isn't very good, i find i slide forwards too easily and the padding is poor. lots of good sounds from the standard set up, i'm not planning on an end can. it's got proper brakes and suspension, and yes, when you are in G L F mode it eats fuel.

Had a chance of a new Fireblade at 2k below list and 0% finance and I turned it down to stay with the FZ1(S). It's the best all round bike I've ever owned and I can't think of anything that could properly replace it (Maybe an MT10?). It will keep up on the road with anything and having had the seat modded years ago, it's (relatively) comfortable for cruising. I've owned this one for about 5 years and have no intention of changing anytime soon!
