Oh man, this is the first I've heard of this.  That's so sad. Another Dunlop, gone.  So, so sad for the family.

Absolutely gutted, a really nice genuine fellow. When the news filtered through to the paddock today, the place was in total shock and disbelief. It was heartbreaking to see a few of the team in tears trying to pack up as we passed heading back to the bikes.

Latest from the club after meeting with his family is for the racing to go ahead tomorrow and riders have agreed that no championship points will be awarded and all prize money will go to the family.

My condolences to his family and very close friends.
Rest in peace William in  the great road race track in the sky.

Oh what sad news. I’d no idea this had happened, you need to dig a long way into Sports News on the BBC before this gets a mention.
So sorry for the family… they’ve been decimated by racing accidents over the years.

Sad to hear that.
Died doing what he loved. Knew the risks, took them. Far from the worst way to go IMO. Shock and tough for the family though for sure.

Anyone know what happened?

Another sad loss for the Dunlop family, but they accept the risks associated with racing the roads, it's in their DNA.

RIP William.

Anyone know what happened?

They're saying that the bike bottomed out in the dip coming out of the trees at Sam's Tunnel and the sump plug was pulled out thus spilling oil onto the rear tyre.
