Sounds good, but how do you get the cable into the waterproof cover?

:groan The standard Satnav charger lead with it's tiny winy connector goes through the itsy bitsy hole in the case. The other end goes into either a USB or cigarette socket.

Yes I know where the USB/Cigarette socket end goes.... and thank you for taking the trouble to explain there's an itsy bitsy hole in the (not quite fully waterproof then) Satnav cover.

I'll stick with my fully waterproof Rider methinks  :D

So, without wishing to sound dumb but never having had a bike specific twatnav, it sounds to me like there really is no way to keep the device watertight if it's plugged into a mains connector thats in the fairing, as I've seen on a couple of bikes.
Best bet is a cig lighter socket under the seat wired to the batt then. Probably.

Most bike specific Satnavs have two wires you splice into the loom. The Satnav sits in a purpose built cradle which is waterproof (perhaps not if submerged in a river!)

I don't go anywhere near looms.
If I can foc up putting a seat back on just imagine what I could do with a loom.

I put a male Optimate plug on the end of mine and run the cable under the tank and seat so I can plug it in to the Optimate charging lead under the seat which is fused.
