brake cleaner???

Hi all, this probably sounds a silly question.
I ride my fazer all year round and this year has taken its toll on the bike.
My calipers are functional but filthy beyond words!!!!
I have never used brake cleaner before, is it safe to use all over the calipers, disks and pads??? Are there any areas I should avoid? Assuming paint work? Is it safe for pots and seals??

Yes brake cleaner can go all over the brakes, it may blast away the grease on the pistons at certain angle but other wise its fine.

Most brake cleaners are isopropanol and can be used on calipers without fear of doing damage.

Brake cleaner is by far one of the best but safest degreasers and although very effective it doesn't really harm anything.
I've used other degreasers before and they can leave a residue which is bad news on brake pistons.
I normally buy 6 x 600ml cans at a time of brake cleaner on Ebay, it seems the most economical way.

Yup use to your hearts content. Personally I don't use it on pads, but that's just me. Spray, tooth brush, scrub, repeat until shiny.

I buy the big tins too, and a manual pump sprayer.  Cheaper to buy and more controllable too.

Make sure you get one with resistant seals, otherwise they fail and it doesn't spray anymore.
