Naked FZS1000 Reg/Rec Mount Point Query
« on: 30 January 2016, 04:04:56 pm »
Well, basically i'm in the process of converting my Fazer to a naked for a change. There are limited posts on the forum as I think it's not a very popular conversion to do for numerous reasons, so the threads I have stumbled across are few and far between.

What I'm after is, information regarding the Regulator/Rectifier mount location - obviously it has to be moved in order to make the bike naked. Anybody who has done this conversion before, what is the best location to mount it?

Any help, photos etc... greatly appreciated!

you need some airflow, so one idea is if the lead is long enough - under the bottom yoke. Or failing that the frame-rail just above the radiator on the l/h side.

Will have a good look tomorrow and see how long the lead is. First impressions are that it isn't long enough to reach to the lower yoke, but I may be proved wrong!

my suspicions were correct, the wiring loom isn't long enough to reach down to the lower yoke. Has anybody else done this conversion that still uses the forum?

Quite a few of the US FZ1OA forum guys have done this.  Check out that site for photos etc.

Thanks for the info Mike. I have signed up to the forum as suggested - you're right, there is quite a few out there that have been done in a way that I am trying to achieve. Loads of pics etc.

Just need to get some brackets made up somewhere now......
