Hey mike long time no speak buddy...we living in the family cottage bang in the middle of the Forest of Dean, got five acres (we let a few caravans store here), so plenty of room if you wanna park up awhile, electric etc , just half a mile from "puzzle wood" which has to be seen to be believed...

Hey, fella - nice to hear from you!  Howgozzit? :)

I'll be over in Dursley in 5 hours, visiting MiL and basing there for a few days before I move on to the final leg of this 'Ivanising' jaunt.  Thanks for the offer of a place to plot up in the gypsy wagon ... might take you up on it one of these days.

You still doing the occasional gig with SH?

Mike

Another big thank you Mike for todays Ivanising. Sorry it was a bit problematical, but all sorted now (email sent). May Day run tomorrow, so will be like having a new bike to play with. Thanks again . Anyone undecided on getting this done, get your name down for Mike's next visit, whenever that may be. You definitely won't be disappointed.

The last time Mike was in Scotland he done quite a few full monty conversions and 1 slip on (i think) including one from Cork
he was based in my garage for the couple of days he was here and i guarantee if you go full monty you wont regret it

we had some good laughs along the way

Hey Brian, good to hear from you.  Yes, a good trip that one and the hospitality was ace. :)  I will be looking for ways to fit in a trip north of the border when I can.

To all the guys who came to meet up with me this past week, many thanks fellas.  Nothing but positive feedback from everyone and it was a pleasure to meet you all and work on your Fazers.  I wish you all a sunny and fun summer with your 'new' steeds.  Special thanks to the two Daves and my mate, Gary, for providing me the facilities to work out of and for putting the weather fix in.  Maybe not quite perfect in Marple but that's to be expected in that neck of the woods. :D

Cheers!

Mike

Hi Dave

No apology needed, thanks for allowing me to work on after you'd departed.  I hope you had a good weekend away - can't believe it's Weds already!  Where did the weekend go? :)

Loading of the motorhome almost finished, ready for launch on Friday!

Nice to meet you, Dave, and many thanks again for the use of your place to do the other bikes.  I know the other guys really appreciated it.

Cheers!

Mike

Thanks to Mike for such a great job (despite me being 30 minutes late  :o ) and Dave for hosting. Nice walk round Paxton Pits with the wife and dog while Mike worked his magic. The bike is an absolute pleasure to ride. Just need to sort the front end now (and fix the broken choke cable).

Your timing worked out fine on the day, Trev, so not a problem.  Gave me time to drink my coffee for a change :)

Delighted to hear that you're another convert to the fold.  It's good, isn't it? ;)

Cheers!

Hi Mike my throttle is sticking and won't snap back. Sorry for the noob question but can I fix this from adjusting the cables from the bars?

I adjusted the throttle slack when I refitted the carbs, so that shouldn't be a factor.

Drop me and e-mail with more of the symptoms and we'll sort it out. :)

Do you have heated grips?

In which case try putting a little extra slack in the cable with the adjuster at the throttle tube end.  Are they standard bars or wider aftermarket ones?

Me too, I find the gains at the bottom of the rev range are worth any slight loss at the top end.
