White Tank Behid Rear Shock, What is it?

Hi Guys theres a white tank, looks like a water holder behind the rear shock, what is it, as its empty, should there be water in it :eek :eek :eek

It's the expansion tank for the radiator. There's a level on it at the side I'm sure

Two lines on the rear face, upper and lower limits, top it up to the high level using a anti freeze mix    ;)

That's an interesting spot. I've only ever filled the system using the radiator cap under the fairing infill, but the manual says fill the bottle. Can't say it's ever done it any harm though, but I do run the engine with the cap off to let the system bleed for a while.

I'd also take off the radiator cap and check the coolant level in the system.

One little addition to all the other replies:

Use distilled water only with your antifreeze mix. Keep an eye on your expansion tank, it should not be getting empty - if it does it again then there is a problem.  Possibly a leak or, the cooling system is running too hot and boiling, whereby coolant will exit via overflow pipe from e/tank.

And don't forget to check while on the centre stand as a full tank will appear empty while on sidestand.
