FZS600 Fairing and Screen Assembly
« on: 22 February 2015, 03:59:00 pm »
Hello there,
I've just joined the Forum, and hoping you chaps who know Fazer 600s inside out can help answer a question I have........
My bike is a 2000 FZS600. However, I prefer the look of the later 2002 (or 2003 was it) 'foxeye' style fairing and screen.
My question is (and I'm guessing this must have been answered a million times before on this site)......can the later fairing and screen assembly be bolted straight on to replace the earlier/original style fairing?
I'm assuming the clocks didn't change, and was wondering how big a job it would be to swap over to the later fairing and screen assembly? Hopefully it is just a bolt-on replacement, but, does anyone know for sure?
Also, my bike is silver, and I don't think the later bikes came in silver?
Many Thanks,
cosmo12

I've seen silver foxeye 600s but I don't know if it's the same silver as the box eye.

I have a silver foxeye, I think the mounting brackets are different so you'd need one of those too, plus the foxeye lights obviously, could work out quite expensive!

It's different. The foxeye silver is 'Silver Ice' (S1). The earlier silver is 'Silver Metallic' (SM1). The noticeable difference is that the 'Silver Ice' has a blueish tinge to it (particularly in sunlight I've noticed).

It has been done before, but part of the loom is different and as mentioned the mounting brackets are different as well so its not a simple bolt on job unfortunately
