I was given some Sealskinz waterproof ankle socks years ago. I've used them a number of times with non waterproof summer boots and they are 100% waterproof. The problem I had with them are my summer boots are quite tight fitting and with these socks on there isn't quite enough space left in the boot to be comfortable. They are also very warm, so no good in the summer, but October-April would be fine.
If I was on tour and had to use them every day for a week they would honk and if you wash them I don't know if they would dry out that quick overnight unless you left them on a radiator.

The ones I have probably are made any longer, but in this video the guy mentions various warmth ratings. Not sure how much they paid this guy but he was impressed as well. The video shows the materials which gives you an idea of what they are like bulk wise.

Tried these and found them very tight/uncomfortable with army boot. Also if on proper heavy rain days when water comes thru boot the outside of the sock gets wet and although feet are dry the cold water makes ur feet cold. I think the waterproof part shud be on the outside and warm sockie bit on the inside. The manufacturers have got it the wrong way round imho. .  Also I would like to be able to get another sock or two inside but they seem to only go up to xl which is a British size ten.

Never used the Oxford ones (and probably wouldn't buy them  :lol ). I use merino wool socks in winter with proper waterproof (Goretex) boots. Even if the boots leaked and the socks got wet, they still keep your feet warm and comfortable and don't pong. Bit pricey for good ones though.

You can get Goretex bootliners from ex army navy stores, you know, the same places you get the rest of your waterproofs from!

Those look ideal. I'll have a look in my local ex-army stores and if they haven't got any might get some from that E-Bay site.
They would fit in my summer boots and also my Sidi leaking 'waterproof' boots.
Let us know what they are like.

Quick update......it pissed down from noon today and the fekkin cloud followed me all around till I got home....BUT...my feet were dry as a bone when I got me boots off. Brilliant bit of kit and they fit really well although I do buy work boots 1 size bigger. I am size 10 and the liners are size 11 so perfect. I can get a thin cotton sock and a normal towelling sock and then a thick thermal sock on with the liners over those and in the boot they feel great. I would definitely recommend to anyone who rides in the rain.

I bought a second hand pair of Alpinestar waterproof boots a while ago.

Although they are, indeed, waterproof, I find they just don't have the same feel as my regular Puma boots and they've got bugger all grip on the bottom which makes them a lot less safe :(
