Bike transport

Hello.
So in febuary i'll be moving up to scotland and want the bike up there. Now im allready driving the car up and don't fancy riding the bike up aswell. (loooong way.)
So my question ishas anyone ever had there bike transported? If so who with?

If you are moving why not rent a van and chuck it in the back? PS I have ridden Portsmouth to Glencoe in one hit bar fuel stops...aint that far

I work up there between Feb and November.  Also it's winter.  And I'm lazy.

I used parcel monkey before and just put it on a pallet

 Those who have done a bit of diving will have an idea of the weight this girl is carrying on her head, 3 tanks with regs and bcds -wet!. She's about 14 years old and does a dozen or so carries (50 metres) every morning and afternoon, -for a few quid. Tulamban, Bali.

depends whether or not it will be a regular thing that you do or a one off.

I also have the Oxford handlebar straps. Ratchet straps id always advise to get your own for peace of mind.

I've done 1500 miles with it towing my FZS600 between Scotland and Wales.........80 of them I was in the tow truck after my car broke down 

Only thing im not sure on is their current capacity declarations as im sure mine was for 200kg which it handles the little FZS perfectly although I see on the Dave Cooper site that they now have either 150kg or 250kg capacity so im thinking that they've re calculated the capacity to 250kg as they are using exactly the same pictures. EDIT - I've emailed Dave Cooper and he says that the model I have is rated to 220kg capacity.

£370 on their website.........id be willing to do a deal............obviously shipping would be a considerable cost....im in South Wales. just another option although of course you're stuck at 50mph.

Cost wise I think it was £140 from Doncaster to Portsmouth for Parcel Monkey

A lot of couriers will do a deal if you don't mind waiting for a second third or fourth customer to come along looking for the same journey. Empty space in a van is dead money. I got a bike delivered from Liverpool to the south coast for half price by leaving the delivery dates totally open.

Pay for my flights to and from Cork, the fuel for the journey and I will do it  I will feed myself

When i broke down it really got to me.....id already been driving for 8 hours and at one point i took a look at the bike on the trailer, fuelled up & ready to go......all my kit in the boot......& an hour and a half after braking down i thought......"the missus wont mind if i ride home & leave her here"


But i do value my life


& like you say Silver is pretty slow, i might not have made up any time.......that's when i realised i needed to go on Red alert.

If you are moving, have you got a removal company? It'll go in the lorry with your stuff.
