fitting R6 or R1 speedo clocks to a fazer?

Has anyone attempted this mod with any success? Was thinking about it last night. Should be fairly straight forward. My only concern was how to adjust the odometer to the correct mileage.

To date no-one has and I suspect it's not straightforward. Is this for looks or weight loss?
I believe the R6 speedo works off the front sprocket whereas the FZS600 speedo drive works off the front wheel. Assuming you can get past that issue the TPS on the carbs will probably protest at being joined with R6 technology.  Then again, you may find such electronic challenges a doddle to convert - do keep us informed.

Is this actually a problem? I have run my bike fine with no clocks on, but I've not tried riding it that way, but I've seen the odd mention here and there that it doesn't go properly because of something to do with the clocks, but also there's been a couple of people fitted other clocks with no apparent problems.

could knock one up in less than an hour but it would be a bit inaccurate due to changing gear.


can set speed and rpm with no issues but then you'd have to do speed @rpm in gear x, means you could be doing 50mph in 6th gear at 4000rpm or 50 in 5th at 6000rpm so you wouldnt be able to accurately do it unless you had a way to set the gear changes whilst doing them or you would be at 5000rpm in 6th doing 60 when your phone says youre doing 20,000rpm lol.




Rpm + speed above are examples and may differ.

I liked the idea of fitting a r6 or r1 dash as it was similar in looks and size to the koso item I've been looking at. But it's £200+ so thought the r6 unit may have been more cost effective. Also the r6 unit would fit better in the speed triple fairing I'm trying to graft on along with the headlight internals from a DB9 (hid dipped halogen main) I've acquired from work.
