Hi all.

Couldn't find much on here but I'm looking to do a service while checking my cam chain tensioner due to a lot of noise
It's done 28k (fzs600) so I'm looking to do a lot.

Oil and filter
Plugs
Fuel filter
Air filter (probably k&n)

And anything else you all recommend?

Looking for somewhere online to supply bits and what parts are recommended.

Don't mind genuine parts but I'm not looking to spend top dollar this time around due to potential  cam chain or cam chain tensioner issues.

Two places I use....."wemoto"  and   "bitz for bikes"   both do prompt postal service and easy to use websites

Calsport have K&N filters for £33ish, I've also used Busters (M&P) for oil and filter deals through ebay. Also used Wemoto and bitz for bikes. Never had a problem with any of these, no doubt someone will have  .

Sounds good. Perhaps need to sort my cam chain first now as the tensioner seems unlikely

I'm a big fan of Wemoto, simply because you can see if stuff's in stock online, and their delivery is either normally next working day, or 2 days at most, which is important when you're trying to get things done.

I used to use M&P a lot but they let me down quite a few times by taking your order when things aren't in stock, it's very annoying.
And i think their website is bloody terrible to use.
They also trade under the name 'Busters' as well.

I've used Fowlers in Bristol a few times before, they hold a very large amount of stock, and are quite helpful over the phone too.
They'll always ask you for a chassis number before anything so have it to hand, but if other people haven't got what you need the chances are they'll have it, although they're a little pricier than most but you can't have it all ways. If it's in stock then delivery is quick as well.

Then as a last resort you have AJ Sutton.
A great site to look at for parts because they have diagrams of your bike broken down literally to every nut, bolt & washer which is very handy.
Only downside is that they're bloody expensive, some of the prices on there will make your wallet wince.

Or just search on ebay, where all the above lot have shops, so you can compare the prices to get the cheapest out of the lot.

Also, if you're changing plugs, the other items that usually need changing with same regularity on the fazer (every 2 or 3 years) is the brake fluid and coolant flushing. Are these due on yours?

I've done the coolant but as I have to take the water pump off again I'll flush this again. What's the best method?

Brake fluid I have a braided set of lines for the front so while doing may buy a rear if I  can afford. Or a second hand one like my fronts.

Did browse ebay so perhaps that wasn't a bad shout.

Don't wanna break the bank also but what is a sensible oil?

Ideal, suits me. Think I used silkolene last time. About 1k ago lol.
As for coolant, a bottle of ready mixed coolant do the trick, does it have to be bike stuff or will the car stuff do, so I can share with my water burning clio? Lol (orange stuff obviously)

Also is dot4 the best bet for brake fluid, or is 5.1 a good shout? As I'm fitting braided lines at the same time and all that?

Coolant should be fine - pretty sure I'm using the orange stuff in the 600

DOT4 is also the recommended fluid for the brakes. There was some discussion about 5.1 but I believe the outcome was that 4 was the better shout
