Worrying looking bulge in tacho facia

Went for a gentle little bimble today and I noticed a bulge developing in the tacho facia by the screw. My first thoughts were that something was arcing out and getting hot causing it to melt the plastic but when I got home and took the clocks apart I couldn't see anything that would suggest this was the case. The circuit board looked ok and where the screw fixing was there was nothing that looked liked it would cause this. Has anyone ever seen anything like this before ? As I rode home I could see it getting bigger but no blown fuses, everything works as it should and no burning smell. I'm baffled.

I dunno, I do have a set of clocks for sale though, it's got a crack in the fuel gauge cover, but all the gibbons works, the speedo has around 28k miles, pm if interested!

I'm guessing but the face looks like it's made of plasti-coated alloy sheet. A bit of corrosion around the screw hole might cause it to bubble up the coating?
If you still have the gauges on the bench, remove the screw and trying pressing/glueing it back down?

Cheers Mike, that makes sense. Back on the bike now but if it starts to bug me too much will whip them off again and try that.

My immediate reaction when I saw that was damp. A little humidity / condensation in the clocks (atmospheric) caused the paint to detatch from the face. I wouldn't worry about it if I were you.

perhaps a freak occurrence of sun on glass while parked magnifying heat to the spot causing to blister.

Mine done the same, I have fitted white dials now, But I used a pin, some super glue and got in underneath, Found 2 very small black washers behind the screws and used them to cover the worst of it up.
