Yous are right chaps...good to hear all this stuff...ive done some stats research & although described as torquey the MT07 has lower torque than the FZS600.

Those Brutale sure are nice frosties....as i say...the europeans have the style and trick stuff...but lack the reliability and dealer networks...although a bit of an unknown the MV & the review says they are trying to up their uk dealers.....but the chance of getting one in wales is pretty slim...real nice though.

Still looking at MT09 & the Z....both have similar torque...although the MT is lighter....but the Z looks more of a bike plus has better finishing touches...comfier seats...flawless fuelling.......the MT i dont doubt will prob be a little bit more fun though.

Dropped her off at the hotel spa today & just had to  "nip out"

Quickly drove to thinder road motorcycles in Newport where i seen the CB1000r.............im quite surprised.....no test rides....well i didnt have my bike stuff.....but. Wasnt smitten.....it was nice & stuff.....but not that nice.......not 10k nice...& must like the MT09 the tank was too slim which made the seating position a bit weird.

They did have a Triumph Speed Triple...so i thought it'd be rude not to have a sit.......pretty perfect actually....i was surprised......i like it.

So slowly eliminating some of the contendors.....

Speed triple eh.....1050cc of triple goodness...yum yum

I hope the kwak z8 has a nice feel to it.

I must admit, I likes the Speed triple myself to sit on, feels a very nice bike. I quite like the CB1000R, but I know what you mean about the slim tank.

you need to get yourself sat on the Zed really before you can make any decisions at all though? cant you find one locally (ish) to get some thoughts for yourself which will give you a better idea if its the one for you or not?

Hopefully on the case tomorrow Mick

It's such a shame to be down East and not drop in to the bike places coz usually i really am in the sticks.......even welsh folk are like oh ye where's that then?.

She wants to go some natural history place called st fagans which i aint too keen on.....but i need to drop into costco cardiff first for one o those uber tool sets they sell.......so after all that then the plan is to deviate to the kwak dealer and at least see a Z8 in the flesh.

Jus for the record....there was a punters light blue gen 1 thou outside the stealers today....i did admire it and it was very nice......for me personally if they still did them new then id consider one coz they still look kick ass......not saying im too good for one either coz im not......but I'm just looking for some hassle free riding for a few years& while i can afford a new bike even on finance then i wanna take the chance coz you never know whats round the corner likes.

I agree mate. If I had the extra funds id probably have threw down for a speed triple instead of the gen 1 myself, may as well go for it while you have the money :)

The 1050 is an awesome riders bike, both it and the 675 are perfect road engines.
I've got a triumph, albeit not a performance bike ( bonneville), and there is something incredibly satisfying about owning one, though that might be because I'm older than most of you. It just feels kinda cool too be on a Brit bike, missus loves it too. There's so many reasons we all love our bikes, it isn't down to facts and figures, it's a heart thing more than most. Keep going nogster, your getting there mate...

Me I am determined  to buy the new Monster 1200 this year .

I managed to view a Z800 today & I'm mighty impressed...it was just as i wanted it to be.....styling is spot on & it has nice proportions....everything on it looks really good quality.

After my cb1000r disappointment yesterday i was preying that it would be a comfy fit.........&'it is perfect! 8) ......my legs were comfy round the tank, reach to the bars was just right.......sitting on the bike with my foot down on the road sees me flat footed on the ground with just a small leg bend, almost as if I'm just standing up instead of being contorted..

Feet on the pegs is nicely natural as per the pic.

The dealer is getting a demo bike next week so im looking forward to a test ride but so far so good. :)

You may indeed buddy................where's the "report fazersharp" button  :evil :evil :evil

Aint it strange how different folk just take a liking to something though....or a dislike rather......& i cant see that the Z will sell all that well with all the competition it has but there's something strangely endearing about that...& i cant help liking it

Im quite sure the speed triple outperforms it in most areas.....but i do like being the underdog
